ITR is back with an all new episode this week as we speak with Harry Arnett from Callaway Golf. Over the last few months, some things have changed at Callaway. An attitude, if you will, and THP wanted to get to the bottom of it.
This Episode Features:
Who moves the needle out on tour?
What is innovation in the world of golf?
Thoughts on Callaway Golf over the last 5 years?
Does visibility on TV matter that much?
And much much more.

This is great. Will listen on the way home. Seems like I should expect big things
I love the direction Mr. Arnett is helping take Callaway. Thanks for the informative and straight forward conversation. Really looking forward to what Callaway has in store for 2013. Love the talk of Callaway trying to distinguish themselves with the performance of the products.
Very open and honest conversation from Hasry.
Great show, Harry could talk for hours about the golf equipment industry and I’d listen to every word. I love what he has to say about Callaway, the future of Callaway and also about the competitors for Callaway out there. The best part was at the end, “I think you’re going to see a lot more Tour players playing Callaway” that would be HUGE! I’ve thought for a long time that Callaway has a superior product, they just lack a little presence on TV in terms of players and marketing. Sounds like we’ll see more of that in the future. The future is certainly bright for Callaway! Thanks THP and Harry!
Love the confidence that is reflected in saying “we’ll put our product in consumers hands, and we will win.” Gauntlet thrown, and I suspect it will be backed up. Great show.
I’ve been enjoying the Callaway Friday Office Tips Harry hosts every week, so I was really interested in this radio show.
Interesting take on Woods and moving the needle. I hadn’t really thought of it like that before.
I had never considered Callaway for equipment, clothing and accessories until this golf season. I only knew a few people who played their stuff. Now, I am either noticing more people playing Callaway, or more people have started.
I like the five year plan, and from what I have experienced, it’s very feasible. I see Callaway doing big things in the future.
My question to Harry is how did you come up with the Friday Office Tips series? It’s unique and a fun couple of minutes every week that I’ve actually started looking forward to! There is even a thread on them here at THP!
Great interview!
Harry really calls it like he sees it !
Harry: “I kid, I kid”, that was a great start and had me laughing.
Just hearing his title as Senior VP of Marketing had me thinking of what involvement he will ave with the 2013 Morgan Cup alongside Chad.
Very interesting hearing his thoughts on Callaway Golf over the last 4-5 years in comparison to the new direction. Hard not to believe that he will do a ton of great things for marketing their brand. Sounds like newly designed superior products and fewer of them is the direction. Makes sense as they had a ton of offerings previously.
We had a Razr for everyone and they were all called the same thing. That was funny.
Enjoyed Harry talking about more visibility and younger players coming into the Callaway stable.
Definitely one of the best shows I have heard, and Harry was a great guy to listen to.
What a great interview. It sounds to me that Harry has his finger on the issues that have plagued Callaway. Their new lineup is getting quite the buzz and it seems like they have a better idea on how to market them. Would love to see Callaway back on top where they deserve to be
I really enjoyed listening to Harry speak candidly about some of the same issues that we’ve discussed in threads here. I really like the sounds of the 2013 approach because even though I liked the Razr irons I’ve tried over the past couple years, it got really chaotic last year in figuring out what a golfer should play.
What an amazing interview! I loved every minute of it and I am excited to see how Callaway is going to bring it in the next few years.
Really enjoyed my first listen through.. I love how honest the answers are and how transparent Harry was. Fantastic information THP, thank you!!!
Really enjoyed the show…tell it like it is, and what will be. Good things to come short and longer term.
Fantastic interview. I personally feel as though there are 5 players that specifically move the needle on Tour, but that’s just my opinion. I loved listening to it. Thank you Harry for being so honest!
It’s gonna be really interesting to see what Callaway will release esp in the iron section. I think the Razr X Black i used for this years Morgan Cup are the best irons i have ever hit
Listened last night. Great Interview. Excited to see what the future bring for Callaway!
This is the best radio show yet. Love how he openly admitted they didnt market correctly, and was point on with having way too many lines of irons. Laughed when he brought up the thoughts on people on message boards looking to buy whole line. I look fwd to the new direction & hope to see Callaway continue to make great products.
This is a great interview. Harry is refreshingly frank with his responses and comes over as very enthusiastic about the future of Callaway. He’s got me looking forward to what’s coming from Callaway for sure.
Great episode! Harry seems like a great, upbeat guy.
Callaway seems like they are headed in the right direction. In the past, I had 0% interest in them as a brand but the Razr line had some definite hits in it. As has been mentioned, it was just a bit over-done in terms of number of models released. With the Razr, it seemed like they were trying to really put out some new stuff, whereas in the past to me it seemed like they were riding on their brand name.
I’m looking forward to the next show!
Man that was awesome. I can’t wait to see what Callaway rolls out for 2013
Harry is a very interesting guy. Good stuff! I’ll admit, that I lost interest in Callaway a couple of years ago so I am really interested to see what they do this year. I am a free agent and ready to try anything and everything. I like the direction they are going!
Thanks for this interview, I appreciate interviews from people that don’t seem to be
trying to blow smoke up your #$!
Keep up the drive for new technology!
Great show JB and Harry! I am sure they will continue to put out top notch clubs and look forward to seeing what Harry brings to the Callaway team.
I’ve been looking forward to listening to this specific episode of ITR. Great Show as always Josh
Interesting show. Love JB in a tinfoil hat. Love the wide ranging conversation and topics. Particularly who moves product, the new Callaway brand, the internet’s effect on the industry. Really fascinating stuff. I love that Callaway is going to try to make the other brands play defense. Good stuff. Looking forward to hearing, reading and experiencing Callaway stuff through THP!
I love where Callaway is heading right now and definitely look forward to seeing everything they have to offer. Another great show Josh!
I love the “clear and direct and simple messaging” statement. Excellent. Our golf products are great- here is why…..
Loved listening to this! I completely agree when he says that there are only 3 or 4 players on tour that can really move products off the shelves. Also enlightening how cutthroat the golf manufacturing industry is and how desperate the OEM’s are to really create a unique product and brand.
Loved listening to this episode! Great job Callaway!
Time will tell here, perhaps I wanted to hear more concrete directions and innovative methods revealed, but I just didn’t. I strongly believe of all the companies out there this one can get it done, I hope we see these changes quickly and aggressively. Come on Callaway, blow us away!
This was a great episode to listen to, Harry has a funny sense of humor and I enjoyed hearing what they are doing, and I can’t wait for Callaway to blow us away!!
“I kid I kid” lol
