Cold weather and golf?

We play all year round as long as snow does not cover the courses. I don't mind the cold (a layer of thermals, a wind shirt and a stocking cap usually suffice), and at times I prefer it over the intense heat of summer. The number of golfers is low, and the rounds are quick. I love the frozen fairways (they play a lot like Scotland at the end of summer - firm and fast with plenty of roll!!), but I hate the frozen greens and tee boxes. When things get snow covered, I search for somewhere south of here to play.... I club up 1-2 clubs during winter depending on temps and wind -- I don't have a formula -- just feel based on the first several holes of the day. I use the lower compression balls (Q-star, zips) during winter to reduce the hand sting of thinned shots. Flexibility is definitely reduced relative to summer, and scoring is more difficult, but it beats a lot of the alternatives -- playing again tomorrow!!
