Thought I'd start a thread here. There is TV coverage for this, but it is scant. 1 hour each day for rounds 2,3 and 4. Sheesh! No matter - I will be watching. Lorena will be defending. And spouse will be cheering. :clapp:

Thanks for the info. I will look for it on TV. Lorena is a great golfer and I don't see anyone at present that can really challenge her consistently.
 
Glad to hear it is getting some air time after the LPGA said it was not. Even if it is just an hour.
 
An hour a day = putt-putt (literally) golf. :at-wits-end:
 
It is better than nothing, (which was what we originally thought was going to happen) but not much better...
 
Wasn't this the same tournament we complained about last year over at the old GFW board for having the same skimpy coverage.

I think I even emailed the LPGA, didn't I?

That board is long gone, but were you on it as early as March? Have I really put up with you that long? :bicker:
 
Harry, I think this was one of the tournaments we were complaining about because I remember watching this tournament last year. Although, this will not be the only tournament that we would like more coverage of this year.

Paula is tied for the lead after posting a 5 under with Angela Park and Jane Park. Paula had food poisoning during the round and said that she putts better when she is sick, she put in 6 birdie putts. Good to see Ai Miyazato just one shot behind, hope she has a good week!
 
Wow--Paula's had a run of digestive issues during big tourneys.

Ai is absolutely adorable; I always want to pick her up and hug her.

And Lorena's only three shots back, so she's in it.

I think so because I recall you complaining about how the coverage wasn't even really an hour. It was actually something like 58 or 59 minutes. But maybe I'm confusing my tournaments. I remember that coverage of the Women's British Open was also lame.

Thanks, Harry. Paula's poses are sufficiently typical it's hard to tell if she's in pain or just reacting to her putts.
 
Great pics. Lorena is in place to possibly win another one. She seems to always hang around the top and then go low on the weekend.
 
Funny. Action shots are always so comedic. Love the fact that Natalie may have had to give up the gym, but that doesn't mean she can't hit the tanning bed and teeth whiteners. Paula's looking ill to me, poor girl, esp. her rosy cheeks. That said, her reaction to misses do tend to take a typical form. Love the shot of Lorena and co. marching down the fairway together.

Seems like Paula's always sick. She did a clinic at the First Tee the day after the Michelob two years ago and she was fighting the flu. To her credit, she played the pro-am tournament and did the clinic without a complaint. She really was great with the girls.

We got a great picture of Paula with my daughter (dressed head to toe in pink, like every other girl at the clinic), and my dad flagged her down at the Charleston event later in the season and got her to sign it.

Hangs on my daughter's wall. Priceless.
 
Okay, I'm including a spoiler tag here because I've been watching the leaderboard for the second round but, because of the time delay, the (lame) coverage doesn't start until tomorrow at 1:30 ET.

Paula Creamer is at the top of the leaderboard again (T1 with Jane Park at -6). Hopefully she can pull it off this week. The last thing the LPGA needs is a strong talent like Creamer to start getting a reputation as a player who can't finish. And if she falters 2 weeks in a row, you know that is what the analysts will start talking about. Oh sure, they will say it isn't true and any comment of that nature is premature . . . but they will still be talking about it.

Lorena still lurking, 4 shots back. Anyone starting to get the feeling that she's "got them right where she wants them"? She's like a thoroughbred that drafts until the last turn and then accelerates past everyone.

Suzann Pettersen is finally in contention. Also 4 shots back.

Juli Inkster also lurking at 2-under.

Mi Hyun Kim had the round of the day at 4-under and is now T3 at -5.

Morgan Pressel is +4 after shooting +3 today. Grrrrr! C'mon Morgan!!! We love you! Pull it together!!

Geez, terrible tournament for Vicky Hurst! R1: +7; R2: +12; Total +19 !!!
She is dead last. Did anyone anticipate that?

Those pr-round dinner photos of paula may be the best I've seen her look since she's entered her maturity. Is that where she got the food poisoning?

I'm with you on Morgan. I really want to see her succeed.

Can't believe Vicky. Ouch. Maybe the LPGA's not as easy as she thought?

That's so sweet! Boo Girl is past pink but still loves Paula; she'd be so jealous.

Thanks for the photos and the update, Harry. Totally agree on Lorena. But grumble, grumble on the dinner photos. The cheesecake should be totally unnecessary.
 
It is odd that the girls must do what is essentially a little fashion show runway walk at some of their events. On the other hand, I remember some pictures from the Johnny Walker maybe which had the same sort of thing going with the gents, and come to think of it, Camillo Villegas and a few others happily do your basic peacock prance whenever they have the chance. Dunno.

Edit: Gotta love the sock tan on some of the ladies in this one!
