He actually fell hook, line and sinker for this joke. I went outside and talked to him and told him I wouldn't force it on him if he didn't want him. He said since he was older, had short hair, and was really sweet he guessed it would be okay.

Went to a shelter this past Sunday to check out a puppy. For whatever reason they made us wait until Monday to do the adoption. Ok, fine. Go back Monday and the pup was gone, so they say. I don't think I've ever yelled in public like that. Kids were pretty upset when I didn't bring the pup home. I'm sure that pup was there to bring people in to the shelter. All things happen for a reason, right?

Wife insisted we hit the Humane Society and do a true rescue. Arrive 5 minutes before close. Wife and kids were off goofing around with a great big lab while I was checking out this beagle in the corner of his pen. Put my hand down and he slowly came up and gave it a sniff. He seemed pretty bummed about the situation. They were kicking us out and my wife walked behind me and did one of those big "Awwwwwwwwwws" got real dramatic and said we were taking him home. I was like whoa there, let's come back in the morning. She wasn't hearing it. Left me there while she went up and paid the fee. So now we have Gus. Four year old Beagle that was at the Humane Society because his previous owners moved.

Sorry Gus, the pic doesn't do you justice.

Oh, missed this one. Absolutely awesome. My beagle is my best friend - she's a sweetheart.

Looks like an awesome family member to me...:D

They seriously had me going for awhile. It was quite funny and JB has a way to make you think he is serious as a judge. :D

I love catching up with this thread, awesome pics of Gus, Gizmo, Nellie, Joey & Duke. Loved seeing my buddy fall for the joke, hook, line & sinker, funny stuff.

Thought I'd update with a few of Parker, now he's a big 15 months old!

This works better for us. We have a pool cleaner net (just the end, not the handle) to clean it out and keep it stirred up to keep the mosquitos from laying eggs, and if it gets real dirty, it's easy to dump out and fill back up.

Yeah, I hear ya. We have 5 dogs, so they need a bit bigger space to play in. Fortunately the tank has a drain plug so we can clean and drain it regularly. We used to buy those plastic pools, but the dogs would start rough housing and break the sides down pretty quickly. :D

C.J. was so sad that Dad was THP'ing it up last night, instead of laying with him, rubbing his ears.
