I think he should just wear over sized cotton polos, pleated khakis, a Briny Baird hat, and brown and white saddle shoes. That way he looks awesome and really appeals to the younger generation!

I kid, I kid. :alien:

So, you're saying he should dress like Steve Stricker?

I'm not seeing what's wrong with the orange. It matches. Not like he's wearing bright orange and green or purple or something. I like the orange.

Like someone else said earlier, RF rocked the ryder outfits pretty well. I was seriously sick of red and black for awhile though. Too much of a good thing.

Stricks, while a nice guy and a great player (one of my faves), isn't necessarily moving product like Rickie is, or selling tickets like Rickie is, or bridging the gap between a new generation of golfers and fans.

The college colors are fine, but why monotone? Why not black pants? The college has more than one color.

Having gone (sadly and embarrassingly) to OSU, there is only ONE color there to those people. Jack'o'lantern look on campus is quite popular.

Let's not talk about dumb facial hair without mentioning Poult's awkward chin strap...

Ouch that is awkward. When it grows in, in a month or two I'm sure there will be a thread that will have us in stitches too.

Oh I agree its louder, but comparing Rickie to an orange or whatever would be the same as saying DJ looks like a blueberry in his all blue or that Bubba looks like a painter in his all white.

Clearly you have not read too many of the tourney threads as both DJ and Justin Rose have been called a blueberry many times. And Bubba was called a painter and a caddy for weeks.

You don't think that has more to do with the quality of the recent Puma lines?

I'm far from a big Rickie supporter, yet have added quite a few Puma clothes to the closet this year. As much as he has been marketable, and ever more so now that he's won, I still think the quality of the product takes precedent on why it's being purchased.

Not a chance it has anything to do with the "quality".

Orange matches with orange? Are you sure?

I didn't come up with those names myself. I guess without DJ playing well, we don't hear it as often and I remember in 2011 Bubba being called that, but I guess the pink throws the painter category out the window. Those names may get chucked out there, but they are not labeled like Rickie is with the orange. Bubba doesn't go all white as often, but DJ wears the all blue week, when he actually plays, yet we don't see him being labeled the blueberry.

I'd wear the colours, but I don't see my college repping me when they're at an open day. They owe me.

Granted, he's had two awesome showings in a row, and I enjoy watching him play ... but two tournaments don't really make up a solid basis for statements like this:

"but he is emerging as a serious contender in every tournament he enters"

Golf hype for players is built up way to fast IMO. Dude has 2 good starts, not 2 good years

I like Fowler and I do someday hope him and Rory have a rivalry, but even though he is gaining some consistency, he still only has one win, two worldwide.

That will happen when the golf world and media is desperately looking for the next Tiger....

^^^^^^ I Tapped That ^^^^^^

has a sleazy 70's porn star look about him, he needs to lose the stach.
looks more like he broke out of San Quentin with an orange jumpsuit...

I was happy to see him get the first win out of the way. He has come along way since 2010. I think he will win again this golf season

He is arguably one of the hottest golfers on tour right now. I read that he had switched to the left hand low putting style recently and it sure seems to be helping. Hope he can keep it. Whether you agree with his style or not, its hard not to root for a young Californian that is playing well and finally starting to back up the hype!

In a interview he said he had played left hand low previously and decided to give it another try.
I did it for several years. The thing I found was that I started my putts on great lines that way but had distance control problems (mostly short) past say 10'.
Lagging was terrible so I returned to conventional grip.
