Wegmans LPGA (spoilers)

I really think that they need to start playing some longer or tougher courses. These scores each and every week are getting really low. I feel the same way when we watch a mens event that ends up with the winner at 20 under.

Yes, I'm having trouble: my girl Jeehae is 7 over already.

Seriously, though, it's coming up fine for me, although it is telling me that play is suspended.

Carp. I can't get it to work in FF or IE. I keep getting "page cannot be found." The main LPGA page works, just not the scoring page.

I forgot to do photos of the first round yesterday, so here they are:

Hello, Brandi.

[Oh, and Jeehae is actually only at +4, not +7. Sorry.]

I see Jennifer Rosales has made a surprisingly strong start so far, in the big group tied for 5th at -4. She's all but dropped out of sight over the last few years, but there was a time when she was among the small contingent of really popular, attractive, rising stars on the LPGA. I believe she was levelled by injuries, and she's never really gotten her spit back. Hope she can keep it up, as a Rosales who begins winning again would be fun to watch and her charisma wouldn't hurt the LPGA, either.

It looks like they have finally restarted play.

Im watching this coverage on ESPN2 and I think this may be the worst picture I have ever seen for watching golf. Is anybody else struggling with grainy picture? As usual the ESPN commentary is the worst out there.

Great. :bad: Can't wait.

Watching now. Picture quality is no-def. (Notwithstanding the claim in the ESPN2 sidebars.) Rosales finished solid with a round of 69.

I can't find any photos of the second round. How do the ladies' outfits look today? Anyone looking particularly sharp?

I  MP

Now squeeze, Paula. So I heard from the lousy commentators that she broke into tears over an injury on one hole (right before a hole she birdied). I began watching after that, however, so I didn't see what it was she hurt.

Her left thumb was bandaged up. The announcers said it was swollen up pretty good.

Paula did end up withdrawing at +1, which would have made the cut.

Morgan had a nice early AM round and is at -10, one shot behind Jiyai. Stacy Lewis is one back of Morgan after a nice back 9 (which was the front for her, she started on #10) and Kristy McPherson is in 4th, one shot back of Stacy and 8 under. Michelle is at 7 under, tied for 5th.

Notables that missed the cut: Christina Kim, Jeehae Lee, Cheyenne Woods

I was disappointed that there was no coverage of Stacy Lewis at all yesterday. She was tied for 6th at 5 under while the TV coverage was live, so why didn't we see her at all?

I am really excited about the weekend rounds. It is fun to have a leaderboard where a lot of your favorite players are in contention. Hope it starts happening more often for everyone, helps get attention to the game.

As usual the ESPN commentary is the worst out there.

I  Judy Rankin

I also really like Jane Crafter as an on course commentator too. She will let us in on little things, like Lorena's chocolate fixes and Paula's conversation with her parents about the thumb.

I would listen to them any day over Johnny Miller.

A couple of great pairings today:

12:57 Jiyai Shin, Morgan Pressel, and Stacy Lewis
12:46 Kristy McPherson, Michelle Wie, Mindy Kim

Coverage on ESPN2 at 3:00

Rankin and J Miller are the same to me. Judy is a marvelous lady and a wonderful ambassador to the game of golf. She is a terrible commentator. She wants to babysit these girls rather than be real about their performances. She is constantly covering for poor play and will never say anything negative. Just my opinion of course.

Agree on all counts. Kay Cockerill is good too.

I've forgotten the name of the one woman who is an okay announcer, but her voice is really harsh (EDIT: Donna Caponi-Byrnes.) And Beth Daniels, bless her heart, always has decent things to say, but her nasal voice just drives me nuts.

Michelle Wie has 2 bogies through the first 3 holes. :bad:

MP is +1 through 3 holes.

Stacey Lewis is -2 through 3 though.

And Yani Tseng is -4 through 10.
