2014 THP Events---Where would you travel to?

I know everybody recommends their area, but I can assure everybody that this is not a cities we are coming to list. Its merely a gauge of locations. If you see San Fran on the list and think "why there and not here", it is not a knock on that area, but merely a distance and participation gauge.

Thanks.

In that case then, yes if you can get within about 500 miles to us Seattle area people (future in my case), I'm there! San Fran is between 800 - 900 miles from my location up there, so that's pushing it...but my girlfriend does want to see the city, so maybe I could do it.

Based on the turnout for the 2013 events I expect the same for next year. Not matter where the. Power that be decide to hold them, I will make a few to say the least. Home games are good but traveling is even better. Get creative with the travel and see this great country of ours.

I know Mikedean will work hard to make sure we are all comfortable and playing at top notch courses. JB and Morgan will tie in awesome sponsorships. The rest of us with have to fill in the blanks. Keep an open mind when looking at the list.

maybe

Hilton Head
Charlotte ( actually, a probably! )
Columbus

Yes

Baltimore ( Frederick area courses are awesome! )
Pittsburg
Philly

I like a lot of the other cities, but I have a kid who will be going to College, and not a cheap one, so the funds will be a bit limited!

Deano - check out the York, Pa area as well, Some very nice courses, and reasonably priced!

Another great option would the the Robert Trent Jones Trail. Many are less then three hours from Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta, and could draw on folks from the Gulf Coast. The courses are amazing and its a great value.

This is a great idea IMO. These are supposed to be some great courses and I have always wanted to try some of them.

A lot would depend on dates.

Possibilities for me would be:
Atlanta
Columbus, OH
Orlando
Memphis
Charlotte
New Orleans

Columbus, Pittsburgh and Chi-town for this guy.

Do we really need to have Atlanta on the list?

Does the Masters ask Augusta National whether it should hold its tournament there every year? :act-up:

As for the list:

10. Atlanta - Yes

I reserve the right to show up somewhere beyond those indicated above. Mike - I might suggest Nashville instead of Memphis because you would probably get more participants from KY, ATL, East TN, and Alabama than could get to Memphis.

Agreed on Nashville for the location. I kind of like Memphis more as a city, but Nashville is cool and much easier to get to.

Interesting to see San Francisco on that list. I live an hours drive away and I wouldn't go there myself. :)

Ok maybe for THP I would.

Should take out San Fran and put Monterey in its place. We'd have a blast one some of those courses.
I agree. Good call.

I wouldn't mind visiting one of the Florida events.

See above CM.

I like seeing Kansas City with quite a few yesses, while a bit biased I think there are a ton of great courses here and some darn good BBQ.
I agree, I sure hope that one makes it!
