THP West Coast Event - Coming?

I told my wife that "the golf forum im on lol" are maybe thinking of having an event on the west coast. I said that would be cool and maybe we could make it a family holiday for a week or so, maybe hit Disneyland before or after the event. So much thinking going around in my head, also with #Grandaddy on that coast, so much awesomeness to think about. After watching so many events on here just to play in one in my life would be so cool and meet some of you guys. Of course it all depends on dates. Sorry for the ramble.

Disneyland is totally worth it. Took my kids in November, and even managed to keep it a secret from them until we were on a bus into the park and they announced "Welcome to Disneyland!" over the speaker.

We'd love to see you come over for an event!

Cordevalle definitely seems to fit the requirements. There are so many incredible courses in CA, the real struggle is to find a location that is accessible and suitable to host THP. It really makes ones head swim to think of the different possibilities.

Come on west coasters, tell us why this would be a "must attend" for you! For me, the idea of getting to meet some of the most knowledgeable golf people I've had the pleasure to interact with would be huge. And as JB has said, "playing with THPers...it's just that much better".

We are really trying guys, but interest really needs to be there.
All of these get togethers seem as though they are filled with dozens and yet the talk of an official event, does not seem to be moving the needle.
I hope its just an early count that we are seeing and people begin to take notice at the amazing opportunities that come with THP Events and unique options that they offer.

Every event THP has hosted in 2014 sold out in minutes (if not seconds). We hope that is the case if we decide to bring something to the west. Based on who has viewed this thread, its definitely going to take a large number of travelers to make that happen.

But hey, lots of time remains before we launch anything and I am confident we will be able to bring something rather amazing if there is demand for it.

This may be a little bold so hope you know me well enough to know what I mean.

Without a place or even a time frame, it is impossible to know anything or show serious interest. I am 99.9% sure I can talk the wife into it but I HAVE to know a time frame and place beforehand.

I was speaking more to lack of response in the thread. Those that have posted in here, have been wonderful.
 
the only West Coast i know is the West Coast of FL...so I am very excited for the West Coast Event :laughing:
 
I just have a hard time believing us west coasters aren't interested, so I wonder if people aren't seeing the thread. Is there a way to push this thread to west coast members (or some other way of making them aware)?

Hopefully it will take off soon. San Diego is my vote in this whole thing especially if you guys are going to get a big name sponsor. I know a few of the companies that deal with THP are in the area.

We do not do that T4k. If people want to be a part of event, they will search it out, or see it at the top of the forum when posts happen. We are not going to be the people that put a hard sell on something that may not be wanted. Not our nature, how we built the site or what we stand for.

Check out a few other threads about interest in where to host an event and voting and areas. Booming interest from some areas and not much from others. Perhaps the readers that we see from the west are not posters. Perhaps they have no desire for a THP Event. Or even more, perhaps they just dont care at all. That is all their choice and it is what it is.

I know this has been said before but I will say it again....

Any West Coaster that is reading this and has no desire to attend a THP event, may not be breathing. It took one event and I have been hooked since! You can not and will not find anything like a THP event.Two best trips of my life were heading East for an event. Great friends made (at least on my side) and memories I will never forget!
 
Count me as interested in a West Coast swing! San Diego would be my first choice just because I love the area and weather. I'll leave it in the hands of the southern CA guys to come up with a good course but I know a few in the Oceanside area that are nice (but that might be too far outside of San Diego).
 
This one would be fun to travel to. West Coast & THP??!!?? Yes sir!
 
I'm popping in again to re-express my interest in a California/West Coast event. I would certainly do all I could to be there. I've found that west coasters don't really like to plan much of anything more than a day or two before it happens. Not sure why that is, but it doesn't make for a warm/fuzzy feeling when trying to plan for an event.

I checked the collaborative map of THP members, and I know it's not a complete list. But the membership is heavily populated East of the Mississippi and a bit sparse out west. I know that travel expenses will preclude me from attending many (any?) events back east, so the west coast events will be a priority. I'm sure the west coast THP members can send PM's to other west coasters telling them about an event and encouraging them to attend. We can also tell our friends and family about THP, encourage them to be Albatross Club members, and get them to a west coast event.

So although we're a bit slow on the uptake out west, I do think that an event will be supported if THP is willing to put it in motion and get it set up.

I didn't want to sound like an apologist so I didn't want to say this, but I was thinking something similar. We are just a different bread. Think about the sporting events where people show up late and leave early. That said, perhaps those of us who are more active need to step it up a bit and connect with less active THPrs in our region about this thread so they can express their interest (or not).
 
Bandon Dunes in Bandon Oregon would be a great place to consider and only a 9-10 hour drive for me !

I believe that one was mentioned earlier and folks chimed in its a logistical nightmare to fly into

I've never been to Cali, a THP event would be a perfect excuse!
 
You have seen me in here a few times, and I have posted up to the DFW crew for those interested. I will do whatever I can to get into any a West coast event. I may be dragging some extra luggage with with me too, like TBD, Cookie, niteowl, who knows. You already have Bigtime Nate saying he would travel out west for this.
THP events are like nothing you have ever experienced, until you have experienced one.

At the end of this year I will have flown to Florida 3 times for THP events, and I would easily fly to the west coast for an event if it works with the schedule. I love the events, the people and the places. Hoping this one can make the cut

Plus it is super isolated away from much of any thing
 
Come on west coasters! I would love to have a THP event out here. Barona in Lakeside is a great resort with casino and buffet. Pala Casino in Fallbrook area is great and has at least 2 casinos within 20 minute drive of golf course. The Course attached to Pala Casino is great and recently added a host course for the California State Am. Of Course, San Diego would be my choice for an event.
 
I am absolutely interested to a West Coast event, and will commit! Hell, I flew to Pinehurst alone, to play in December! Vegas, Cali, anywhere - I love to travel and to play golf. Getting to meet some THP'ers would make the event more attractive!!
 
C'mon WestCoasters!! If you don't step up to chat about this stuff, you don't get to complain when events are announced!!
