A new golf course opened up in Cherokee North Carolina and they are offering $35 after 1 pm until April 15th. I love trying new courses so I gave it a go and that course is a BEAR! It is a Robert Trent Jones II design. I was reading a course review JB did and GG said she was worn out from the hills. This place will get you in shape in one round. I have played a lot of mountain golf but the hills on this course just killed me. The elevation changes were crazy. I played with an assistant golf pro who wanted to play from the tips. Needless to say I was happy with my 94. There was not a par 3 under 200 yards. It was a windy day at that. If you want a challenge and you get a chance to play this course, I say try it once. Please check out the pics

That looks like a great place. I like how the front 9 has 3 holes each of par 3's, 4's, and 5's. The course looks like it has some nice distance.

... There was not a par 4 under 200 yards...

Is this a typo or a common thing in your neck of the woods?

Wow! that looks beautiful and very challenging. I am gussing you rode in a cart instead of walking?

It is very beautiful. There is no way you could walk that course, you would have to leave the Clic Gear in Florida. The cart paths were so steep and curvy you almosy had to stop to "safely" take some of the curves.

I guess because it is a newer course it was also carpath only, I was KILLED after that round

hahahaha, TYPO!

Gotcha.

Heck, I'd probably pay the $35 just to drive around the course and take in the scenery. The pictures are just amazing.

that's what casino money can buy you! i'm glad you enjoyed yourself and wish i could've joined you. i'll take trillium any day of the week though.

I agree, I would rather play Trillium any day.

Hey Dirt, it was very pretty! You could see clingmans dome from hole #1.(google it)

I agree, that course looks good on the internet but we know of much better

I will see ya before then in Blairsville and we will have that cold one then good buddy! I look forward to playing some of those courses up your way. I have officially 43 more days to drive the Bus.
Well actually you can knock three days of leave off for golf trips before June 5th. April 23rd & 24 in Blairsville and May 24th & 25th at Dancing Rabbit in Missippii )......

Wow, that place is beautiful. After meeting you guys at the FL outing, I may just have to cross the mountains to come play with you guys sometime...if the rock slides ever get cleaned up that is.

Ad -- I think the only Southeaster group member able to attend the Fla Outing is Setho. We all hope to come next year if possible. You are always welcome to come on down to Blairsville, Ga.
April 23rd & 24!

Beautiful golf course. The next time I'm in Johnson City I'll have to take a drive down there and play. Nice round by the way...I would have let the pro play from the tips and I would have played further up. :)

That would be great! I've played the local courses: Elizabethton, Pine Oaks, Buffalo Valley, as well as Graysburg Hills. I liked GH the most.

i've only played pine oaks out of the list you mentioned but i've only ever golfed over there once before. now that the little one is getting a bit older i plan on playing over there a bit more this summer. the father in law says that andrew johnson is a great course.

What a beautiful course. I love courses like this with plenty of elevation changes and plenty of trees in the background. I would love to walk this course early in the morning.

Anytime you want to roll this way let me know, I will be more than happy to meet up with you. Yeah, the whole rockslide thing is just annoying now.

Its worth playing it one time, that course is VERY narrow. Thanks, I thought about moving up, but I actually dont have a problem from the tips on par 4 and 5's but the par 3's killed me. UGGH!

I literally dont think you could walk that course, you would need oxygen going up some of those cart pats. I am not lazy AT ALL and I really just dont think its possible, it would take 6 hourse for 1 golfer. The distances from some tee boxes are more than a couple hundred yards, also going from 17 to 18 seemed like it took 5 minutes in a cart....straight up hill

Very nice looking golf course. Thanks for sharing Tha Shanks :)

Your very welcome, its so good to see you back!!!

It is a great course. I have played it twice. A 118 my first round and a 106 my second round. Yeah...I'm not as good as Shanks. He's tried teaching me a few things the last couple times we've played. I did like the 12 stroke improvement on the course though. AND I moved back a tee box for the second round.

golf course is average at best. I'm used to mountain courses and this one was pretty extreme. layout was ok, greens and fairways were very slow, grass was long. a few excellent holes with lots of forgettable ones. I went a few weeks ago so feel free to ask any questions!
