Cleveland CG16 Irons - PHOTOS!!!

Hello everyone, this is my first post. When will JB release his CG16 iron review? I tend to agree with TC that I'm struggling to tell "BUTTERY FEEL" of a forged club vs cast club. Perhaps I'm lacking on experiences. I've played Mizuno forged, and currently plays A4 forged, and was playing Burner Plus.

Our review will be released on these as we get closer to 2011. The clubs do not come out for several months and we dont want to have a review out too early. Tons of info in this thread though. 50 people got to try these out at the THP Demo Day.

Can't wait. I've spent countless hours reading THP demo day reviews, Burner 2.0, and Mashie Hybrid reviews!

Heard from a little birdie that these were released on 1st December in the UK & US. Nothing on the Cleveland site though. I NEED to see the Full Review!

They look good but Cleveland haven't really caught my eye since the TA-series from 6-7 years back. I played the TA-3s for many years and those sticks were really sweet.

Your little birdie lied to you. :act-up:

Sounds like it! The website GolfAlot also states the 1st December though, weird...

You would've thought Cleveland may have brought the clubs out prior to Christmas unless they've got something else up their sleeves!?!

They use the same release almost every year.

They're probably still busy trying to pump out as many CG15 wedges as they can before then end of the year cut-off.

The CG7BP's were available around this time last year. I guess they weren't any new design but just a face-lift from the original CG7.

Looks neat even though i think the design is a step backwards from the G15.

I didn't think Cleveland made g15 irons?

Im guessing that you are thinking of the wedges as opposed to the irons. We do have a thread for them as well. The 16 wedge is actually a replacement for the CG14's.

Haha.... I complete agrees. It is on my must "have/demo" list in 2011 along with Mashie.

Thats a good idea, these are very sweet irons. These were one of my favorites from the THP demo day.

CG16 has less offset than Burner 2.0, some of you at THP demo day have said they are more forgiving than Burner 2.0. Any thoughts on this? Additionally, CG 16 irons are bit longer in terms steel length than Burner 2.0. Both of them have stock 85g steel shafts.

*Please note CG 16 offset specs are rounded to the tenth decimal*

good looking iron, but i don't like that they kinda ripped off the ap2 look

I dont think they ripped off the AP2 look. yeah, there are similarities but I think this looks better

i am under the impression that added offset is there to assist in acquiring a higher ball flight, not so much for forgiveness.

I want to start by saying that I really like my CG7's, I love how they feel when hitting a pure shot and also how they grab the ball. The 16's have the laser milled face so they will produce the same spin. I will say that I found the 16's to be a little more forgiving, anything hit out on the toe was still gaining some distance. A mis hit doesnt feel as harsh with the 16's. I would also say that I felt like the more Pure shot felt just a bit more Pure with the 16. Now, I havent had a whole lot of time with the 16 and the wind was horrible that day, so it was hard for me to get true results. But, all in all, if I were to go out to buy new irons and I had these two sitting side by side I would take the 16's. I love the look, I think they are some of the best looking irons out there and they feel awesome. I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions

Thank you One-T! Good stuff... more pure and more forgiving... Wow

Good point TC. Have you try the CG 16 yet or are you still on the TM Burner 2.0 lovefest.
