hmmmmmmmm

They had a similar incident in one of the stores here in South Fla and they fast took them back and now you have to ask for them....

Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dude!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are my hero today.

But I agree. I've never understood stealing either. The rationale and what someone is thinking also baffles me. But I've never been able to put it as eloquent as you just did.

hmmmmmmmm

cant they just blacklist the serial numbers (similar to how casinos blacklist stolen chips)?

I went to sports store in Augusta few weeks ago to check out what they had. Their golf section is right beside the entrance of the store. They had safety tied all the drivers to the display to prevent grab and run. I turned and walked right out.

I understand the need for security....but you've got to be kidding me. I'd have done the same.

Is it that easy to remove the heads from adjustable-head drivers or drivers like the Callaway i-Mix? I assume those are the heads of the "expensive drivers" because regular epoxied-head drivers would need quite a bit of effort to remove the heads.

I guess some stores have cut down on the number of employees to the point where the product isn't safe on display any longer. Pretty sad actually, but we've had ways of locking displays and software into our display products for years. Time for golf oem's to jump on board too!

They had security sensors on the shafts too!

Years ago there was a kid around these parts that would snap driver heads off the shafts and have them reshafted elsewhere. I believe it finally caught up with him.

Heard about this from my buddy who works in the security industry a few weeks back. His company is working on an anti-theft solution so that stores don't have to tie up all their expensive drivers.

910 or r11 all it takes is the right torque wrench and about 8 turns and heads comes right off!

Poppa always said: "Why buy the club when you can take the head for free". That's a shame. Hopefully people don't read the article and start getting ideas to do this.

"Torch wrench"? Is that a TM-only tool? I've never heard of it.

Well with 910 comes to torque wrench type tool where you take screw out to adjust it to settings you want then screw it back and then you turn until you hear a click. The TM r11 is the same way.

My local golf store doesn't have any kind of security on their stuff. I've walked in before with my old driver and headcover and browsed around for a long time before I left because they didn't have my club in yet. But it would have been SO easy to just slip my driver into the used section and put the headcover on a new one. That being said, I love those guys. They take care of me and I take care of them.

LOL! although I am sure that a "Torch wrench" would do the trick too. People might get suspicious when the place starts catching on fire.

Where do you put the head? Or is it one of those, "Are you glad to see me?" kind of things.

Explains why the TM clubheads are "hot"!
