Man this is one thing I am starting to dislike about Golfio.com: Most other sites just take an item off their site once it is sold out...however, I was searching today for putters and saw they had the 2010 Bettinardi putters on sale for $199! So I clicked on it and the drop down menu said they only had 3 styles left, one of them being the BB8 that I was interested in, so I clicked on it, selected the 34" length, and then clicked to buy and it said OUT OF STOCK. So I was like "what the heck?" and I thought I'd just buy the 35" one and just take an inch off the shaft once I got it...and sure enough...OUT OF STOCK. Why the heck would you list putters on your site that you do not have in stock? They got me all excited just to let me down in the end...
 
I have ran into this on other non golf retail sites as well and the reason could be that the discount is so deep that there are a lot of folks wanting to get it and what they do is put it in their cart and not purchase it until they are done shopping or researching whatever. In that case the retailer cannot flag the item out of stock (since they are technically still in their possession because a transaction hasn't occurred) but when you try to put it in your cart it'll say out of stock since there's a hold on the item caused by the person "holding" it in their cart.

I would just keep trying in the hopes that the person holding it either lets it go or the time allotted to "hold" an item expires.
 
At what point are they saying sold out? I tried and I can get through right to the credit card info
 
I just tried again, both the 34 and 35 inch BB8's say out of stock. It does not let me get to the Credit card screen
 
When I looked, after making the selections for the BB8 either 34" or 35" they both say out of stock at the bottom of the selection screen. It may have to do with what Spank says or maybe they are expecting more in (probably not but you never know).

Oh one more thing... I assumed the Golfio prices were for the 2010 BB lines. The 2011 may be more $. I'll check on the pricing and get back if you want the 2011 BB line.
 
And as to why stuff is left up on the site - there are a variety of reasons. Sometimes if a page is really strong (in terms of searches and where it comes up on rankings -so when you Google, it comes up first), you leave the page up until the new product comes out and then just put the product on that page. Sometimes, you just get behind on taking stuff down. Sometimes, stuff still comes back into stock (probably not these BBs, but for other stuff that is still current).

And if you see "Out of stock," another trick I've found is you should call the retailer. Sometimes they put "Out of Stock" but they have one more somewhere or a return that they'll be willing to sell you. Same with sizing - esp if you can't find what you are looking for at other places. I do it a lot with kids shoes (my daughter always wants pink - the most popular color).
