Hi folks

me and my family are going to visit florida in the first two weeks of march next year. we are going to rent a house in cape coral. Since i am the only one playing golf i won't be able to play every day ;) but i hope i can play 2 or 3 rounds during this two weeks? what courses would you suggest to play if you can only play 2 or 3 rounds? maybe there is even a member here from this area how would join me for a round ;)

I've only played the Rookery close to Marco Island, and thought that was a really good course. You can find cheaper tee times on EZlinks.com. I've also heard good things about Old Corkscrew in Estero which is even closer to Cape Coral.

We have a few THPers here from the Ft. Myers / Naples area that I'm sure can give you more advice.

SW will be able to chime in and tell you great courses in the area, but some of the best I have played down there are Twin Eagles. Two courses, and both are phenomenal.

There are a good bit of THPers down this way, I am sure we can work something out to get some rounds together! When you heading down this way?

We will arrive in Miami on march 2nd and stay till march 16th. but i will only be able to play the first 2 or 3 days.

anyone?

Old Corkscrew is a MUST! Great course and the staff is even better!

Sorry I missed this earlier. That time of year will still command a premium for greens fees. What is your price range?

Off the top of my head in Cape Coral I would play Palmetto Pines, it's an Arthur Hills course that's typically in good shape. I've not played it recently however so it may be better or worse.

The good thing about the cape is your ability to go North or South to play. Like I said, determine a $ and let me know. Contrary to Gianna, I wouldn't play Old Corkscrew if it was free.

Hey thanks for your help. because i would only play about 1-3 rounds during this 2 weeks i wouldn't mind paying more 100 dollars. but i would say that my limit is something around 150.

best regards from switzerland

Ok, you've got ample choices then. I'll put up a list with links when I get to a pc.

That would be great. Maybe we even get a chance to tee up together.

Here ya go buddy, this list isn't exhaustive but it's where I would take someone to play if they were visiting. The first two I know have reviews in this section if you want to see more.

Verandah: forum member biggsy is a member here, shoot him a message if you want to play either of the 2 courses.

Panther Run @ Ave Maria. This one is a little out of the way for you, a favorite of mine though it's windy as hell in the spring haha.
