Fellow THPers,
I am about to pull the trigger on a new set and thought I would ask for some feedback on the specs before I place the order.
I have been testing all these clubs and many other for a few months now. I measured all my distance gaps between each clubs to make sure I had the proper gap, as well as the proper launch angle and back spin.
I am favoring the MP69 at the moment but I have kept some MP64 in there as well thought I am not finding them easier than the 69 so I might go 69 all the way to the 5 iron. So far I am getting the same technical numbers between the 69 and the 64, so the choice might end up being on feel and look at the end of the day.
I selected the MP-H4 for the 4 and 3 iron simply because I am not as concerned with distance control for these 2 clubs (within reason) than I am with every other club in my bag. I never attack the pin at 220 yards and above, I simply want to land on the green - so the H4 launch angle are what I am after.
Without further ado, here are the specs:
I am making the following modifications:
- Added 3° to the lie on all clubs (4° on SW and LW)
- Added 1" to all Irons
- Added 0.5" to hybrid
Shafts:
- KBS C-Tapper S (6.3) on all clubs including wedges (not the hybrid)
- Kbs hybrid X 110g (5.5) for the old rescue 21° hybrid at 40.25"
Grip:
Tour Wrap 2G mid with 3 layer of tape 2" from the butt.
Type Club L/B ° Lie° Length " SW
H4 3 21/0 62.5 39.75 D5
H4 4 24/.5 63.0 39.25 D5
64 5 27/2 63.5 38.75 D6
64 6 30/3 64.0 38.25 D6
64 7 34/3 64.5 37.75 D6
69 8 38/4 65.0 37.25 D6
69 9 42/5 65.5 36.75 D6
69 P 46/6 66.0 36.5 D6 (Delofted to 47/7)
R12 G 52/7 66.5 36.25 D6
R12 S 58/10 67 36 D6
