I am a right handed golfer. Sometimes a round when I hit a shot my left wrist kills me. What could I be doing to cause this?
thanks!

Most likely a flip or scoop. Couple that with the occasional fat shot while your wrist is in such a vulnerable position and you're sure to keep Advil in business.

Dorsiflexion is the term for when the knuckles are getting closer to the back of your forearm (also referred to a "cupped" wrist). While it's not desirable for your left wrist to have that at any point in the golf swing (except maybe well into your finish), the worst part is that it is physiologically compromised when receiving a shock load in that position. Especially when you have a weak (rotated counter-clockwise) grip.

My quick advice- strengthen the left hand grip so the glove flap is more "on top" and very diligent about having the left wrist either flat through the swing or even with a little palmar-flexion (bowed left wrist).

Hope that helps,
