But their are 10 courses within 15 minutes of my home.

Well, it goes like this.

Logan City Golf Club is my home course ... but ... it is a municipal course. I've been a member there for the last 3 years & have used it to learn the game. It is not the most lush course but as a trade off the membership is not that expensive. It's about 30 minutes drive from me.

Not much to see on the website but for what it's worth, here is the link.

Nudgee Golf Club is about 15 minutes drive from where I live & has two 18 hole courses. If I change clubs in the next 6 months, it'll probably be to this one.

Similar to some other posters, I have a number of courses in my area that I also like to visit. I'll post some reviews progressively, just in case my northern hemisphere friends are interested.

I don't have a home course, but there are a few I play regularly, and my favorite would be Cypress Creek.

Usually I try to find the cheaper rates at the Semi-Private courses instead of playing munis, mostly because for just a few dollars more you can play a much nicer course, and I like a little variety in my courses.

I guess you would call this my home course, not a member but play at least once a week here.

It's a nice mature,(read narrow with lots of big trees) one of the top 5 semi-private courses in the KC area

I haven't ever played there. 128 slope is more than I usually play. The 118 looks more my speed! I usually play 5,700 to 6,300 yard courses and try to keep the slope 122 or 23 or lower. If you've ever played Tomahawk in Shawnee Mission, that's the kind of course I like to play the most (slope 118). My wife and I have played Minor Park alot this year since she just started playing. We'll probably play there alot next year also, til she gets a little more experience.

I don't have a home course either. There's plenty of muni's around, and even some day fee courses. The one that I enjoy playing the most though, is Glen Garden.

Built in 1912, it's where Byron Nelson and Ben Hogan learned the game, were both caddies there in the 20's, and is a heck of a lot of fun to play.

Any course with those two names tied to it has to be a gem!

I don't have a home course. I play Blacklick here in Columbus/Reynoldsburg the most though. So I guess you could call it my home course.

I am a member of Keperra Country Golf Club. In 2006 the club published its 75 year history by Ray Bennett (razaar) which is in the members library of the R&A St. Andrews.

don't have one either. i play 20-25 different courses, and about 100 rounds a year. playing that many courses makes it very difficult to get a consistent handicap. i think if played only a couple different courses, i'd easily be a single digit handicapper. i also think the handicap system should allow for this btw, somehow.

I like to move around...play about 3-4 rounds per year. Home courses would be Old Memorial, Black Diamond, Pebble Beach (when on the west coast)...

Actually, I'm a Westchaser too based on location.

Cue music..."I ain't got a home"

Cypress Creek Golf Course. C-Mac has already posted a link. The great thing about this course is that it is wide open, lush, and never crowded.

I don't have a home course, but play The University Course at UBC and Northview (home of the Air Canada PGA tournament) regularly - both great for different reasons. They are terrific public courses and if you ever get to Vancouver, you should try and play them.

Nice to see you, GolfGal--we've missed you!

And she's eligible for the contest Sunday night! Yippeee

She sure is. She has more time now

Minor Park is where we played most of our rounds this year: http://www.minorparkgolfcourse.com/view.asp?id=149&page=2203.

Smiley's is where we played when we wanted an executive course or driving range: http://www.smileysgolf.com/range.htm.

Next year I hope to play more at Tomahawk Hills: http://www.jcprd.com/parks_facilities/tomahawk_golf.cfm and Country Creek: http://countrycreekgolf.com/Courses.htm

Hey Smallville. I'm visiting a friend in May who lives in Shawnee Mission. Can you recommend a course in that area? I'm not familar with that area at all.
