You mentioned carne asada is the only reason I bring it up. I get one every time I am in San Diego.cant say that i have (and im hoping there's no manly joke in there that went over my head lolz)

Large flour tortilla (warmed)
carne asada
french fries
sour cream
cheese
Squeeze lime and add hot sauce after each bite.
It's quite possibly the best thing I have ever eaten.

Agreed. I have such a hard time eating Mexican food here, because nothing compares to out West. Those little mom & pop places are the best to go to for tacos and such out west. My personal favorite... Cha Cha Tacos in Redlands.

A close second is some of the local Cuban and Peruvian places that have outstanding cuisine!
Testify brother! No doubt... I have an Argentinian Steak House that's a little sleeper here but mostly Cuban, Puerto Rican fare around my ways. There's a couple of Mexican places but it's still not the same.
Now I keep thinking pollo a la plancha right now. Hmmm.
