    Cleveland Black Fairway Woods

These arrived a few days ago and we wanted to get up some pictures and a quick video as well as our first impressions. These were taken with my cell phone, so higher quality images and video will come later.

    First Impressions
If you like the looks of the Black driver from Cleveland, you are really going to like these as well. Same look and headcover as well as shaft make it stand out and when you have all 3 of them in the bag, they look outstanding as they did today.

I can tell you that the progression of having all 3 of them in the bag was something I was not sold on until I tried it today. I have always liked my FW wood a little heavier than my driver and I feared hitting it too high. Well that fear went away rather quickly as I ended up using it off the tee today quite a bit and twice from the fairway. Very much like the FL in the length and setup, with slightly less weight to them. Within a few swings, it was quite comfortable, especially coming from the driver and having a lighter shafted hybrid. The 3 wood offered good distance and a great look and performed as well as my FL that I have been using which I did not expect either. The sound is different as its a little deeper and more "crack" like than the FL which offers a great high pitched sound when struck well.

The 5 wood could be a game changer for me. So easy to hit off the deck and used once on the tee gave me the exact distance I wanted. Launches high with a soft landing and I came away EXTREMELY impressed. If I carry a 5 wood this season (I have not in the past), it would be hard to take this one out.

Overall, I like what I am seeing here.

Holy cow those are some good looking woods. I cannot wait to hear more thoughts on these and eventually hit them myself.

JB, obviously you are very early into the evaluation process with these clubs, but the flex code on both of them is 4212, which seems like it would be pretty soft (though I'm not an expert like some on the Miyazaki flex code system). The lower numbers towards the end seem to be geared towards high launch which is great off of the fairway, but did you have any issues that you saw with that in terms of directional control?

It is definitely softer than my FL in terms of shaft flex. It was a tad higher launching, but I had no issues with directional control.
