Flexability, Strength, and Grip

First time I have posted here since Andy left, hoping you can help me. I have two questions.



First, I am wanting to improve my flexibility and strength this winter, I was wondering if you had any good exercises for this. I have access to a modest weight room with benches, free weights, dumbells, ect.


Second, I use a reverse overlap grip, which I know is less than common. Are there any downsides to it?

I am back at the gym with standard stuff like pushups, curls, etc. Just started yoga. Wow, yoga is great.
