(Sorry couldn't find old thread).......With that being said I got in my Polara Golf balls that I purchased after reading threads on here and seeing the story on Yahoo!. These balls are everything I hoped/dreamed/prayed that they would be!! I am a weekend hacker and I looked like I belonged on the golf course this past weekend. My ball flew oh so beautiful and straight that the other guys in the group were pretty impressed how much better I was playing. I know some guys on here said they lost some distance but I gained distance simply by being able to keep it straight. These balls are just as advertised and I love them!!!
I concur with everything you said.
I've always been a high handicapper with a decent but inconsistent swing that has been plagued by extreme hooks and slices and finally became frustrated with the game about 3 years ago.
Now 40 and coming from a 3 year layoff, I recently started playing again with my kid. With all of the kid's activities, I don't have time or the energy to put in the practice that I badly need.
So, after playing 3 rounds this year, and scoring in excess of 100 each time due to hooks and slices way off target and OB. I said WTF and ordered the 3 piece ball off of Amazon.
On the course, I was straight all day. I hit a pull hook that was heading toward water running up the left side of the fairway. From my previous experience on this hole, I was certain that the ball would be OB left. While the ball did hook, it was greatly reduced and hung on to the rough before it hit the water.
Also, I gained a half to a full club on the irons and hybrids, but the driver was short. (i'm using a Hibore XL 10.5). Also noticed that I was getting full distance on toe hits with the irons, which is great. I was hitting my 21* hybrid 230yds with these balls, but the driver was only going about the same distance.
I have a 16* Adams 460D at home that I plan on taking next time out to see if I can get more distance on my drives.
Another plus to these balls is that they really allowed me to concentrate on making solid contact, which in turn allowed me to find a groove on the course without searching for fixes. Golf is fun again. I am a fan!
