Hey guys,

I am going down to LBI for a few days later this week, and I've heard that there are some nice courses around the Jersey shore. Can anybody give me some reccomendations for courses within about an hour of LBI? I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

All depends on what you're willing to pay and how far you want to travel.
Harbor Pines, Twisted Dune and Ballamoor are all about an hour south in Egg Harbor Twp.
All are top class. McCulloughs Emerald Links is there as well but I just played there on Saturday and can't really recommend that.
The fees are about the same as Harbor Pines but the course was a bit of a wreck. Burnt out tee boxes and sections of fairway.
I understand it's hot, but for the price they charge, they could afford to throw the sprinkler on once in awhile.

Blue Heron Pines in Egg Harbor City is another that's worth the price of admission and is about the same distance.
Here's some links:

Thank you so much! I had been looking at Twisted Dunes but didn't know of the others. Big help. I can't say thanks enough. If any THP'ers care to join me let me know! I'll probably be playing Thursday if I can get a time.

Dont forget pictures and reviews

I played Harbor Pines last week. It was pretty good. If you play before 630 its only 49 bucks. Plus you are done before it gets hot.
Twisted Dune looked nice, I stopped there but didn't play.
There is another course I've played a few times call The Vineyard @ Renault. I have enjoyed that course. http://www.vineyardgolfatrenault.com/

Thanks to everyone but something came up and unfortunately I won't be able to make my way down there. I should be going down there at some point so I will put these reviews to good work at some point!

I've yet to play @ Renault.
We're saving that one till we can coordinate with the our lady friends so that they can hang in the winery and we can golf.

Ddec - you should post when you'll be around South Jersey again, would love to get a round in with one of the LBSB's :act-up:

Bump this when you know you'll be down there.
I'll see if I can meet up for a round.

In Brigantine there is the Links which is pretty cheap and not too shabby looking either.

I remember playing that course on a fall day back in the late 90's when the wind was howling. On number 9 I was about 110 out and absolutely pured a PW that went up, up, up, up, up, up in the air and dropped straight down about 30 yards in front of me.
