Callaway RAZR Hawk Driver(2011) vs Callaway RAZR X Black Driver(2012)

Hey All,

Just wondering what the big differences are between these two models of callaway clubs. As the new Razr X Black is actually selling approximately $30 cheaper.

Why such a cheap price point on a new Callaway

The razr fit iss more of a direct replacement for the razr hawk. The black is more in line with the diablo series, which is now done.

Razr Hawk, and now Razr Fit, is the "top tier" line, similar to the R11 line. Razr X Black is the "second tier" line, similar to the Burner / RBZ. Retail for the RH is 299 a of now, which is the same as Razr X Black... Discount stores will probably be selling the RH cheaper actually.

Edit: I stand corrected. The Razr X Black is going for 249. Callaway probably priced themselves there to try and get ahead of RBZ, VR_S, AMP, F12, G20, i20, the list goes on...

if you look at the callaway website, under related products it relates the two, also on a technical side , both forged comp, as well as many similars technologies

is there anything that sets the hawk above the black

They ar very different drivers. Hawk is low launch low spin , black is high launch high spin.

I am having the same problem as you but today i went to academy and swong the Callaway raazr hawk draft 10.5 and the Callaway razr black 10.5 and i seemed to like the more heavy fill with the razr hawk but if you like the ligther more smooth swing you most deffinetly want to go with the razr black.

Wow such an old thread, just thought I would add that my experience with the Razr X Black, is i had a very low ball flight with the Black, as to it being a high launch driver.
