I have to be real honest, I am really loving the Nuun. It is my favorite new product and will be in the bag for a long time. I had the banana flavor as I drove to the course, and it was much better this time around (maybe had too much water last time) and I had the fruit punch on the course. The fruit punch is far and away my favorite flavor thus far, with tri-berry coming in second. I have yet to open the tropical, but I am heading to the range tomorrow and will give those a run.

Maybe I need to order some of the tropical Nuun. I didn't care for the grape at all, and didn't love the Lemon-lime. I wouldn't mind trying one that had a bit more of a taste.

I really wish I had a nuun tablet with me today for my round. Was just drinking water during my round, and I felt noticeably more sluggish on my back 9 than I had when I tested the nuun tablets. Front 9 I played to a +4 39, and on the back I imploded for a +10 45. Not sure if the nuun could have helped me shoot a better score, but I do believe that it would have helped me keep my energy level and stamina.

I tried the Tropical Nuun last night and it is probably my least favorite of the four that I bought. Not that it was bad, but the taste was a bit off for me. I have found the longer you let these sit, the better and smoother they taste. Here are, in order, my favorites from the four that I bought.

    Fruit Punch
    Tri-Berry
    Banana
    Tropical

Next time, I may sub in Citrus Fruit for the Tropical. And yes, I will be ordering these again. They are my favorite *new* item in the bag this year. I love them.

I pm'd JB and he had allot of valid points that I didn't consider when I asked the question.

    1. Price
    2. Golferaid is more an energy drink
    3. Nuun works very well keeping you hydrated which is very important with the warmer weather ahead for all of us Hackers.

I have a long day cooking at a festival with temps expected to be in the mid 80's. I'll be depending on Nuun to keep me hydrated.

I want to apologize for not being a part of this thread for a handful of days, life has simply gotten in the way and I am sorry for that.

I was finally able to try my second tablet, Lemon-Lime, yesterday during a nine hole practice session.

    Taste:
I actually enjoyed the Lemon-lime flavor quite a bit. MUCH better than grape IMO. It honestly tasted like a "watered down" version of Gatorade with a tiny sparkle of fizziness. This is the flavor I will be purchasing in the future.

    Effectiveness/performance:
I think the Nuun definitely helped keep me "fresh". It didn't necessarily give me an energy boost, or get me all hopped up, but I definitely didn't feel "run down" at all in my practice session. Keep in mind, this was after an 8 hour day of teaching so I was already run down.

    Overall:
I will definitely be purchasing some more Nuun tablets in the near future. I really liked the fact that they were so convenient to carry in my golf bag, and that you simply drop a tablet in a bottle/cup of water and you're good to go. I also liked that I was replacing electrolytes without all of the added sugar. All in all I think this is a great product and I look forward to trying more flavors.

So, my body is telling me or should I say showing me that I need to get back into jogging.

Just wanted to point out that after have great result with these during golfing, I'm going to give them a try during jogging for sure. I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing a larger benefit/more noticeable benefit from these compared to golfing. Not really noticing the effect of these during testing was really a great benefit. Didn't really notice them, just stayed well balanced throughout my round so hopefully similar things will come during jogging.

Will update with which flavour I get and if I notice a larger benefit during jogging compared to golf. As well as continue during golfing and comparing them against other drinks like I did with G2.

Think I might try to compare it to an energy drink next time unless someone else has a suggestion.

Picked up another tube of grape and 1 of lemon lime for the bag. Still like the grape better but the lemon lime is a nice alternative.

I have not chimed in on this thread at all. I started using Nuun tablets a few years ago for mountain biking. I was into racing back then, and my nutritionist recommended them. Instead of loading my drinks with calories, I just drank water with Nuun tablets and got my calories through eating. It gave me a lot more control over my nutritional intake during a race.

Anyway, I started drinking Nuun tablets all the time. I just drip them in my water bottle, and I have a little flavor and some electrolytes with every drink. I don't race anymore for health reasons, but I still use the Nuun tablets when I'm out for a long ride.

I have golfed both with and without using Nuun tablets in my water bottle. Mrore than anything, I think taking in electrolytes helps me stay mentally alert, and I tend to feel a little less drained at the end of 18 holes. Of course, I also eat a couple of protein bars while I play, so I have to give some credit there as well. Even if you're riding in a cart, exposure to the elements can sap some of your strength.

Popped another NUUN today after a 7 mile trail run from hell. Staved off the usual mid afternoon cramping and headaches. (Guess NUUN is the man's version of Midol). These are great for so much more than just golf. They're becoming somewhat of a mainstay in all physical activities I pursue.

    Thanks again THP and NUUN.

I'm enjoying this thread. I can see it's a challenge to review something that could be subjective (ie flavor) while trying to decipher actual benefits vs any sort of placebo effect.

Sounds like Nuun definitely do have a good product, and it's something I'll be looking into as a result of the feedback here. If I don't pack snacks and drinks, I notice myself and my game suffering towards the middle of the back 9. This could help.

I just ordered a pack to try. I need to drink a lot of water on the course. I hope this is a good alternative to Gator Aid or Power Aid.. Based on the above reviews, it's worth a shot... Guess I will find out next week....

I was late Saturday to REI to pick up some Nuun before the Thai New Year Festival.
So I was unable to test the tabs in extreme conditions cooking all day in the heat.
I lost >8 pounds of water weight Sunday and I'm wishing that I had the Nuun to really see the difference.
Most years I can drop between 6~10 pounds working the grill in the heat of the day.
I did make my way by the local REI and picked up a tube of Lemon +lime today.
