I am a lot happier since I stopped watching the news, local or other, much happier. Haven't watched more than 5 minutes of either national or local news coverage in at least 5 years. Except for sports news. I still watch that. It is all garbage, brainwashing in fact.

We had some pretty crazy rain amounts last week. 10.5" as of Thursday morning, but then Thursday night happened. We had another 15" in about 5 or 6 hours. It just kept raining and raining, which led to some severe flooding. Roads washed out, dams broke, and some motorists were stranded here and there.

Photos from the are: #21 is right down the street from me. Water was up to the bottom of my door on my truck friday morning.

NAPLES — A regular Pinchers Crab Shack customer didn’t take kindly to his service Sunday evening.
So he took it out on an employee’s car, Naples police said.
Leonard Gordon Hawkins, 73, of Knights Bridge Road, faces a criminal mischief charge after authorities say he keyed a staff member’s car at the Fifth Avenue South restaurant.
The victim told officers that somebody keyed her car one week ago, causing her to move a surveillance camera to the lot where she parks her car. The camera caught Hawkins in the act, and the victim and another employee confronted Hawkins in the lot, a police report said.
Hawkins reportedly swore at the victim and said she had insulted him before.
The victim said Hawkins caused $1,500 in damage and wants to press charges. The surveillance tape was turned over to investigators.

Facebook = SERIOUS BUSINESS

DES MOINES — Police say an arson case may stem from a Facebook-fueled dispute between two former friends in Des Moines.
One of them, 30-year-old Jennifer Harris, remained in Polk County custody on Thursday. A jailer says Harris’ bail for the arson charge has been set at $100,000. Online court records don’t list her attorney’s name.
Police say last week’s fire destroyed a detached garage and damaged the home of Jim and Nikki Rasmussen but caused no injuries.
The Des Moines Register reports that Nikki Rasmussen and Harris had been the best of friends until a dispute erupted. Rasmussen says Harris said “horrible things” about Rasmussen and posted them on Facebook.

My favorite since I have lived in the south has been the Greensboro "Sex Bench" story on the 11pm news. I need to find the article on it but a local park had to relocate a bench because too many people were having sex on it.

Saw a story the other day and I could not believe it. Smithfield NC police will not be responding to all 911 calls, and will not be investigating any more misdemeanors for the rest of the year, unless the town increases their budget for gas for the police cars. Apparently, they have just about run out, and will now only go to what they deem as important calls. CRAZY!!!

Ahh Naples, such a great city.

A sexual threesome turned violent Sunday, resulting in an East Naples man's arrest — accused of punching his wife, swinging a big-screen television at her and whipping her with a belt.

Jorge Daniel Silva, 22, of the 6400 block of College Park Circle, faces a felony battery charge after Collier deputies say he became enraged before a planned threesome with his wife and another woman Sunday afternoon.

Silva's wife told deputies that the three of them began kissing when Silva "freaked out" and started hitting her. The two women then ran into a bedroom and locked themselves inside, but Silva broke through the door, the report said.
As his wife curled up to avoid being hit, Silva punched her and "swung the TV at her like a bat," the report said. After hitting his wife with the television twice, Silva dropped it on her, then grabbed another television and threw it at her, deputies said. The second woman told deputies she tried to break up the fight but Silva would punch her in response.
Silva's wife was covered with blood when deputies arrived, her face was swollen and she appeared to have a broken nose, the report said.

Silva told deputies two stories -- that his wife attacked him after she kissed the other woman, and that he became jealous when the two women started kissing and wouldn't allow him to join. He also told deputies he broke down the door because he thought the two women were having sex without him.

All three appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, the report said. Silva remained in custody Monday afternoon.
