The Adams XTD Super Hybrid is a great club I have the 19 degree one!!! Thinking of trying the XTD 15 degree against my taylormade R11 14

Just a thought how about using a shorter shaft in a wood head if that is your biggest issue. If the larger head is more the issue a shallow-face head might help, Or a combo shallow-face/ shorter shaft fairway wood might do the trick. Just a thought.

I'm also going back and forth on this one.

I have the Mashie M1 on the way to me as we speak. Otherwise I've been using an old Callaway Ti 4 wood. the new Mashie FWs have peaked my interest as a compromise between the hybrid and FW, but have yet to try one.

I see Wilson gets some attention here on their hybrids and rightfully so. I'm still playing the original Fybrids and they are great. I carry the 3 (21 deg) and 5 (27 deg). I was struggling with both a traditional 3 wood (15deg) and 5 wood (18 deg) and cam across the Wilson dxi hybrid in a 16 degree with a voodoo shaft. Simply amazing off both the deck and the tee. If you find yourself hating a traditional 3,4 or 5 wood off the fairway I would definable give a low lofted hybrid a try. Love it on short par 4s and par 5s.

I did the same thing. I hit my 3 wood ok, but it was never a club i could gain a lot of confidence in. I took it out and added an Adams 16 degree Pro A12 hybrid in its place. One of the best moves i have ever made. I'm hitting the hybrid 265-280 off the tee and 250-260 off the deck with a low, penetrating flight. It has made those short par 4 tee shots and 2nd shot into a par 5 much better. I would say if the distance is about the same and it adds confidence when your over the shot, it is a no lose situation.

Another vote for the Adams XTD 17* sounds like we have close to same SS and I put mine in play for the first time Monday nite and WOW is it awesome. Hit it within 5 yards of the green from 230-240 each time. I usually hit my 3 wood low off the deck but the Adams had great height and distance. Do yourself a favor and go try one don't think you will disappointed!
