Las Vegas or Scottsdale - 2014 THP Bridgestone Championship

If I was able to go to this I personally would like to go to Scottsdale. I'm not a big gambler, and I have been to Vegas a few times I would like to go somewhere new.

If I had to pick one, I'd probably go for Scottsdale. From what I've read here from those in the know, they're both even golf-wise, if not giving a slight nod to Scottsdale.

I'm not big on gambling or flashy nightlife. Give me a patio with a trashcan full of ice to put some beers in, and some THPers to tell some stories and I'm set. ...but this is just one simpleton's opinion.

Doubt that I can even think about doing this, but I would vote for Scottsdale. Like rotating cities.

I think that with the all the new places THP is going this year, 2014 needs to finish somewhere new. I have to go with Scottsdale.

Being on the other side of the water, I somehow doubt I would be able to even consider this but my choice would be the same as Greg, as I am not a drinker or interested in the gambling etc, so my choice would be for Scottsdale as well

I say Vegas, but that's just because I love Vegas, Last years event was fabulous and Allegiant does not have a monday return flight from Phoenix.
But either place would be awesome, and if its in Phoenix I will find a way get there, heck I could just hitch a ride with CJ on his way to Phoenix :D

I just wanted to thank THP for asking for opinions, it's amazing to see how these events keep getting bigger and better and to top it all off THP cares to ask our opinions. THP flat our rocks!!!

Scottsdale area does have some really nice courses. Went out there once when my sister lived there. While I'd like to get to Vegas, I think Scottsdale would be a nice new area to get to for THP.

Honestly for me it would come down to which venue offered the best golf. TPC Las Vegas set the bar pretty high though.

Between the two I think Scottsdale would be a great location.

I'd say Scottsdale myself. Of course you guys would know but I feel like navigating Las Vegas is more of a headache.

If I had to bring the wife Scottsdale has a ton of spa/resort stuff for the ladies. It just gives more of a relaxing vibe than a high strung, wired Vegas.

Keep em coming, we appreciate the insight

I say Vegas!

Scottsdale. I loved the Vegas event, but would prefer less glitz.

Scottsdale sounds fresh and new.

Scottsdale for sure! I think the golf is better plus the resorts have spa/activities for the rest of the family.

Vegas is nice but it has been done and is a bit busy.

Yes, thank you for asking for our opinions we really appreciate it.

Vegas was great, the TPC Vegas staff was outstanding and you couldn't have asked for better weather. I agree that Vegas is a championship venue. However, as previously stated, 2014's catch phrase is "NEW" therefore my vote is for Scottsdale.

Oldtimers is kicking in and I have forgotten who mentioned it (can't find the post in my skim either) But I think that having the Bridgestone Championship alternate between Scottsdale and Vegas is a great idea. It would keep the venue "fresh" for all of the participants, even those that can attend every year, while at the same time give a sense of tradition.

I think I'm liking this idea too.

I don't know about Scottsdale, but in Vegas in Sept you only have a couple courses that are not overseeded, most are cart path only and most are in the process of overseed and green aerification. I would think the number of courses in Scottsdale/Phoenix area that would be considered outnumbers the courses available in Vegas, assuming you stay in the same price range as this years event. If they are also in overseed at that time then I don't know what the real differences are if casinos are there. Only thing I can think of the shows in Vegas are probably better. Outside of the strip activities there really is nothing else in Vegas to see. Not sure what there is in Scottsdale to see either, not really on my lists of destinations to sight see. If Diamondbacks are in town, can go see a game or a Cardinal game.

Vegas baby

is there a thread for each one for instance the lake Charles event or are they all lumped into one?

There is an Invitational Series thread.
And there is a 2014 Events Announcement thread.

When each one gets official with dates and the rest of the info is ready to be announced, they will get threads with signup info.

I've thought about this for a few days and I don't think there's a bad choice here. Flights are similar in cost regardless of which city and both have amazing venues in abundance. I think I'd give the nod to Vegas as it just seems more 'event worthy' to me...granted I've never been to either.

i'd have to go with Vegas again it was EPIC and i want to drink till my tee time again. but its very close.
