OH/KY/IN Summer Get Together

Last two weeks of june or 1st week of july should be good for me. The weather should be above 50 by then. After talking with bullfrog the spring outing was to cold and wet for this old man.

I'll keep an eye to the paper and look for some deals on courses. The two that I was thinking of suggesting was Hickory Stick and Heartland Crossing. The Fort is really good, theres a nice Pete Dye course on the Northeast side called Maple Creek that supposedly pretty nice. Eagle Creek on the Northwest side has a couple of pretty decent courses as well.

Might be able to make the journey into the Tri-state area during one of these times, need to take some leave anyway, Still a little far out but i'll put this on my radar. I vote Indy if it counts.

would be great to have ya!

So since there seems to be some issue with the 16th, and there hasnt been many objections to the 30th, how about we go that route and I'll update the first post accordingly?

when does their twilight start? If we're going for Saturday rounds, I wouldn't be opposed to leaving at lunch on Friday and playing twilight Friday night somewhere.

I don't think I could watch someone hit 54 straight fairways and make my game look terrible again. (Dan) Lol

I'm good with the 30th, I'm planning on taking vacation around that time, so I should be good to go.

evening bump

If the Fort is on your wish list, there is Ironwood about 5 mins off I-69 and proabaly less than 30 mins away from the Fort by interstate. It has 3 nine hole courses to chose from and the weekend rate on the web site on the weekend is 48.00 which is the Twilight rate at The Fort. Just me rambling .... "Pay no mind to the man behind the green curtain , he knows not of what he speaks"

The Friday round could be a shamble or scramble or best ball or something fun dude haha!

In fact, a two man best ball for one or both of the Saturday rounds could be a ton of fun..

definitely an option

Would anyone consider a combo golf/casino outing at somewhere like Belterra?

awesome course, not sure Id want to pony up the cash to stay there, thats for sure.

Ive gone down to Louisville a bunch of times, goled at 2 places 1 day then drove to casino and gambled and just stayed somewhere else cheaper

I tend to shy away from casinos, so if there is an actual vote on that I say no.. I think the format we had last weekend was solid.. Two reasonably priced courses on the outskirts and purely about golf with great people.

I might be down for a Friday evening 2 man scramble that weekend end.

well I only work til 11am, and my brother Rob doesnt work on Fridays, so we could easily be down, would just have to find some cheap lodging

Theres plenty of that around. I just submitted for vacation, so we'll see if that gets approved. I'm planing on hitting Victoria National for the Nationwide stop on Thursday that week. And would be free all day on Friday for golf.

cool, I'll give the thread until the weekend for more updates, and then Monday, post with finalized location and date

Finalized location is Harlan Country Club for the first 18, then Wasioto Winds for the second. *fingers crossed* :fingers-crossed:

18 holes at Harlan, wouldn't we have to play it 3 times then? :beat-up:

Just twice...lol. One benefit would be seeing all these beautiful mountains, and breathing in the fresh air two times around though.

What part of ky are u in?

A very beautiful part. It's a small town called Harlan. You should come visit Mike.

I might be able to do the 30th of June if that's the decision. I'd love to meet some of you guys and enjoy a day full of golf.
