I am new to THP. I am looking for some pointers on how to generate a full swing mainly with the driver. I find myself sometimes lost in the backswing and other times decelerating on the downswing and just giving up after I make contact with the ball. I do not do this on my practice swings. Could you please suggest some exercises to remedy this?

I moved this to its own thread, so GolfTEC instructors see it.

Thanks for the question and welcome to THP. The main thing I would have you work on is not "hitting" the ball but "swinging" the club. This will help you not to stop at the ball and it makes sure you aren't thinking about impact as a stopping point. Here is a drill that can help:

Take practice swings where you take a step through impact with your back foot. Then hit a ball with the same motion and walk towards your target after impact.

Always work to finish with your back toe into the ground and your belt buckle facing the target. Remember that the goal is to go through the ball no to hit the ball.

Hope this helps.
