You can get solvent at just about any golf store, ebay, or even some hardware stores probably have something.

Mineral Spirits is pretty much the exact same thing.
The guy that did my grips used WD-40. He said that's what he's always used when I asked him about it. Do a lot of people use that? I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere. Anyway, I wasn't a big fan of it as it took a couple of rounds before I got it all off the grips and was comfortable with them.
I smoke, so, yeah, no to this one. I just load up on solvent at Golfworks.
I haven't heard of that before. I know you want to use something to help it slide on easier, but I don't know about an actual lubricant. Could take forever to set, wouldn't it?
