Let's assume for a second that you are going on a golf trip. You are deciding to play resort golf and a stay and play and you are looking at places.

Where would you go?
Rules - Must be leaving your current state of residence.
Give us city and state and of course the reason(s) why.

If price is no issue Im going to Bandon Dunes in Bandon OR and/or Streamsong in Bowling Green FL, just something about links courses that I absolutely love.
If price is a factor and I have to do it on a budget, Id go with places Im familiar with such as Mission Inn in Howey In the Hills FL, PGA National in West Palm Beach FL, Grand Cypress in Orlando FL etc

Unfortunately I cant speak to too many more

Wish I could partake in this conversation but I don't get to travel/play golf as much as I'd like.

Definitely interested in the responses as maybe my luck will change in the future.

Bandon would be very high up there for me. Love resorts with lots of courses and hate trees. Seems like a match made in heaven.

La Costa is a favorite of mine. Just really nice.

Mission Inn holds a place in my heart too though.

No budget constraints? Bandon.

Wherever a THP event is. Beyond that, I've got no clue; I let MikeDean plan my golf trips.

Not too familiar with many stay and plays but I immediately would head to True Blue / Caledonia without hesitation.

Fantastic golf at 2 courses that are very different and lots of good places to enjoy nearby.

You would love Mission Inn.

I'd go back to True Blue/Caledonia in a heartbeat.

75% for the great golf, 25% for the nostalgia. And I want a crack or three at Caledonia playing my own ball.

I can basically quote MD441

Bandon OR: I love places where golf is the focus. I know from a couple people on my team having a client in Bandon, there isn't much to do outside of golf. Play lots of golf and have a good time with your buddies. Love links golf. It is at the top of my list.

Streamsong: After seeing the review on THP I went to their website and spent an hour on there looking at prices and drooling at the pictures. One day I will make it there and play those beautiful courses.

So Orlando, FL?

Lol yeah, like I said I cant speak to many based on my limited travels (despite what everyone thinks)

Strangely enough my initial thought was Bandon or Streamsong. If money is no issue, those would be high up there. Always wanted to play in Colorado in the mountains or a desert course in AZ as well. No names jump out at me though.

talking stick out in Scottsdale is a good one, nice resort, casino and 36 holes of real solid golf

I'd really like to get out of California and play some of the resort courses out that way. If cost isn't a factor, Pebble Beach would probably be the tops. Just one of those bucket list courses that would be incredibly special.

Grand Cypress down in the Orlando Area worked really well as an outing. The villas were good to stay in and the courses were both tough and fun. Travel to Orlando is really easy to.

Ultimate Golf Trip - St. Andrews.

Bandon, Or. - Bandon Dunes - Heard nothing but Great things
HKohler, Wi. - Whistling Straits - See Above
Pebble Beach, Ca - Pebbles Beach Resort - See Above
Pinehurst, NC - Pinehurt resort - It's a great place

A Disney trip is high on the family priority list right now. A Bandon trip would be cool if money was not a factor.

In this order if money is no issue:

1. Bandon - this would just be about perfect of a golf trip as it gets with THP'ers
2. True Blue/Caledonia - fell in love with this place in July and would love to go back
3. Colorado (Denver metro area) - just beautiful courses and scenery. Bear Dance would be my choice.
4. Arizona - Scottsdale area - Never played and always wanted to based on reviews

Guys many of you are mentioning courses. The question is what city and state. That may be where the course is, maybe where a resort is.

I think pebble and the rest of Monterey would be on the top of my list. Bandon would be awesome, but the weather in Monterey wins out.

i guess i can't be too specific, as i don't know many of the cities...
but anything East coast is up my alley.
the Carolinas or Florida

TB/Caledonia or any of the courses in the "Trail" down there
and i've honestly never played any of the resorts in the Orlando area...so that would really intrigue me.

Loved my trip to La Costa. After the renovation that place is spectacular

1) Turtle Bay Resort Oahu HI (North Shore) 2 Courses, Couples Golf - 5 rounds approx $400
2) Makena Beach Resort Maui HI - 2 Courses not sure of costs yet, still in planning stage, on short list for winter

Pinehurst, NC Plenty of golf form the affordable to the expensive, lots of lodging options, easy drive for me, or easy flight (RDU) and short drive I hour upon landing.
