I didn't see a thread on this tournament, so I thought I'd start one. Coverage is on GC and more info is here: http://ausmasters.imgstgdev.com
There's a decent field, but the course is terrific. I've never heard of it; the Metropolitan club in Melbourne, but the shaved edges of the bunkers, the bunkering in general and all the different types of nooks and crannys around the green scattered with different terrain is awesome. Lots of short game options. I'm really digging the course, a lot.
Alistair MacKenizie called the par 3 Second the best short hole in Australia.
As far as the tournament goes, a win here means a lot to the Aussies. I've been watching Adam Scott, who has looked average. In fact, the leaders are all somewhat obscure, but it's early.
I'll be following this tourney for the golf, and also to look at that course.
