Hey guys!

Found these at a local flee market for a whopping $5!

3i-9i and they're in relatively good shape! I'm going to clean them up and get rid of the rust and do some paintfill to see if I make them pretty again and figured I'd share how it goes with the forum. Here's the before pictures.

Oh man. Give those a cleanup and that could be a heck of a setup. Kinda wish you had the PW though to finish the set!

Looking forward to following along in the process.

Wow clean them up, replace the ferrules and do the paint fill and these could look really sexy! Nice find man.

Nothing gets my eyes going quite like a set of blades.

Can't wait to see those bad boys brought back to life!

Good find! Only the best blades ever! (In my totally biased opinion)

Tell me about it. For $5 I couldn't pass them up. I might try and find a PW online just so I can complete the set.

What shafts did you get in them?

Wilson Staff blades....

latest

I remember when I used to be able to game Wilson Staff blades. Oh, the good ole days! I'm sure they will look terrific when you work some magic on them Jimmy.

True Temper Dynamic S flex. Looks like it's has 15D and some numbers I can't make out on the sticker.

That's the same as I have in mine, good shaft (predecessor to the DG shafts)

I actually found a set of these at a yard sale a few years ago for $5. Now I'm kinda wanting to clean them up too! I've even managed to hit them well a couple of times.

Those will be beauties once you clean them up.

Nice find. Have fun with those.

Those might even be a little easier to hit than the 1970 lee trevinos I cleaned up haha

Wow, what a blast from the past. My first set of irons were some Wilson blades. Will always have a soft spot for them.

Whats the best way to clean them up? Any particular chemical or just good ole elbow grease?

Best way? A polishing wheel probably.

A lot of people use coca cola though.

I've heard good things about coca cola, although I used CLR and Vinegar with a tooth brush and a lot of scrubbing. After that I used a little CLR and fine steel wool. After I dried em I used a some metal polish and they came out great. I'll post pictures in a second. Going to do some paintfill tomorrow.

I used rust remover and a wire brush. CLR usually works fine, but I think I just had some generic stuff when I did an old set.

Here are some after pictures they shined up really nicely. Going to do the paintfill tomorrow. Going to use black, white, and red.

I'm happy with how that came out so far. I might try a power buffer before doing the paintfill tomorrow. No more rust on these puppies!

Looking good.

Dude those look great. Can't wait to see the finished product.
