US Open Qualifier Question.

Just wondering...Seeing GC coverage of qualifier results made me wonder... how is it determined how many players qualify out of each qualifier...as GC was showing notables from each spot they were mentioning and saying 6 spots were available from this place, 12 spots from this place, etc etc... is it pre determined from each qualifier or based on number of entries at each qualifier or what?
 
Per usopen.com: the number of qualifying spots is determined by the quality and quantity of the field at each location.

Yep^^^^^^^^
 
There are typically two qualifiers (in Columbus and in Memphis) that get larger numbers of spots because the fields are comprised of more Tour players since it's done between the Memorial and FedEx tournaments in those same cities.
