Pictures of the course

Thanks guys. It was a great round my dad made a driver and shaft change and he was bombing it. He was getting a nice flight and huge carry it was great to see a 74 year old man have enthusiastic eyes and smile of a 12 year old boy.

Maybe it's because mountain courses are abundant up here and I grew up playing them but there is honestly nothing better but it can sure make the greens tough to read.

That par 3 looks tough maybe go for the slope and let roll back to the hole ???

I went for the trap short and right and got a sand save.

Wow those are some awesome pictures of some great looking courses.

Here's a par 3 that I played this morning at Fox Ridge Golf Club in Auburn, Maine. It was a par 3 playing about 115 yards, steeply downhill as the picture shows. It's tough to see in the picture, but the pin was tucked on the left side of the green behind the bunker, there was no point in going pin-seeking. I hit a sand wedge to the back 1/3 of the green, about 25 feet away from the hole, and 2 putted for par. The view was pretty cool, this was the highest point on the course. I felt like I could look over the tops of the trees behind the green and see for miles around.

I want to play a desert course so bad. They look so cool.

Got to play the River Course at Kingsmill this weekend. They had a ton of rain the week prior to our arrival, and a good amount while we were there. :D Here's a few of the last holes.

Too bad it was wet, love that course.

Maine is such a beautiful state. I wish I had managed to get in some golf when I was in the area.

Ironwood Golf Course, Cowlesville, NY

18th hole, Houston Lake CC. 380 yard par-4. Very intimidating tee and 2nd shot. Striped a drive down the middle, but left my 2nd shot short and then 3 putted. Not the way I wanted to end the round.

That's beautiful!!! How long is the course usually open for each year?

Par 5 2nd hole at Silvertip in Canmore AB.

Plays from 514 to 423 yards, the bunker on the left side of the fairway is between 249 and 338 from the tees. Good thing carts show up on the GPS, you cant see them in spots.

The Three Sisters mountain is framed nicely at the end of the hole. Good to know where it is - all the green break toward it.

Wow, Tedfroop. Just, wow.

Damn you Ted.

This is the approach shot from #8 at my home course. The course actually splits the border of CT/NY. This hole I think is on the NY side. Really tricky hole though. Need a shot of the tee view to really appreciate the difficulty. Plays 460yd from back tees and despite the downhill, it ends up playing pretty long unless you catch one good.

This shot is taken from the range looking down on the signature par 3 #9 green. The hole plays about 160-180yds from tee to green depending on the day and pin selection. The tee box makes it so that 80% of your shot is over water probably. That strip of fairway and angle of the picture are deceiving. The green isn't very deep and is formed by two tiers with the right being higher than the left. Each tier is somewhat bowl shaped meaning lots of difficult breaking putts.

This thread reminds me that I need to take many more pictures of the course now that I am an official member.

Damn you Ted.

That's why their slogan is "Golf on the Roof of the World". At that altitude if you start running anywhere you can see some stars as well.

The 15th at Jasper Park Lodge. The flag can be seen through the clearing on the left. The water hazard is Lake Beauvert.
