Haven't played Batavia, Brockport was really nice when I played it for the first time this season.

Last Monday before winter decided to show up....ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416146652.581485.jpg

Elkins in Fillmore, CA.
Decent course at a decent price.
It's a further from my home (30 minutes), but plays fast.
My new home course for the next couple of months.

Whoops, that second pick is my dog, not me!
How come my pics don't appear, and how do I remove the dog pic?

Yeah.....slight challenge for the higher ball hitters when playing from the tips.
Is that really as narrow as it appears?
How many amateurs have that kind of control with their driver???!!!

Yes it is that narrow. Playing from the middle tees would make it less challenging but since we are internet golfers and think we are better than we are we had to play from the tips.

Unfortunately true.....

And you striped one right through the wicket and down the middle of the fairway?

Nope!

Went through a small opening above the lowest branch on the right.

Intentionally of course.

And yes, right side of fairway! (Lucky but true)

Forecast was cold but dry. Reality was really cold and snow.

Yuck Mash...just yuck.

Yuck Mash...just yuck.
This course is about 80 miles away, and the predictions were, given the time of the year, pretty good. We called the course in advance, and they confirmed the edge of the snow front was located about 25 miles south. As they had an interesting offer (120 bucks a flight, about half the usual price), and this is one of the hardest yet most beautiful courses in the country, we drove over there. About 10 miles out, snow starts to fall... Hard. Not wanting to have driven all the way for nothing, we decided to just go out and play. Only real issue was the fact we didn't have any colored balls, and the pro shop closed when it started snowing. Finding a white ball in the snow after a shot is pretty challenging! Every tee shot was followed by a 5 minute search, but in the end we only lost three balls between the three of us, not too bad. It started snowing harder and harder, and it got a lot colder as well, but we really had a ton of fun! The strange thing is I played only 1 shot (44) above my 9-hole PB. In conditions like this.

Looks like it made for an interesting round of golf.

Cool story Mash!
