When Odyssey unleashed the Tri-Hot 5K putters on the golf world in 2022, many were left wondering, “Where’s the beef?”. While I know our older generations will appreciate that pop-culture reference, for those of you who may not it is just a witty way of saying, where were the mallets?
The initial Tri-Hot 5K release centered around Odyssey showing off just what their version of the forward weighting concept could do to make a blade play like a mallet. It is upon that success and impressively positive feedback that 2023 sees the company bring the tech and design to two of their most popular mallet shapes ever, and some new neck variations of the Double and Triple-Wide’s.

2023 Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Putters
If you need a refresher on just what the ideology behind Tri-Hot 5K is, the name of the game is moving and placing weight to get the CG more forward which reduces the overall sidespin imparted on off-center putts to keep it on a better line, while also maintaining a higher MOI through materials and shaping. This blend means more forgiveness and better performance.

For 2023, Odyssey is adding the Seven and Rossie shapes to the Tri-Hot 5K lineup as well as new neck variations of the Double-Wide and Triple-Wide. For the latter, there is now a Center Shaft option (TW) and Double Bend (DW) which should make groups of golfers with those specific wants and needs extremely happy. The Seven will be offered in Double Bend, Slant, and Crank Hosel (Plumber’s Neck). Finally, the Rossie, which may be the perfect mallet headshape for the multi-material construction, will be offered in Double Bend and Slant neck only.

The material story this year is the same, with Odyssey blending front sections made from 303 Stainless Steel which are then married to 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum. The visual contrast between the two materials via finish and milling remains as striking as ever, and pictures of the Rossie in particular make that shape look more stunning than ever. Behind that front Stainless section is up to 120-grams of Tungsten depending on the model which behind the heel and toe help bring balance and consistency to the roll.

For those wondering, yes, the Tri-Hot 5K in the new shapes and necks do still utilize additional adjustable weights (5, 10, 15, and 20-gram) that can be purchased to fine tune the weighting even further. The heads also utilize the greatest putter insert of all-time, the White Hot, as well as Red Stroke Lab shaft.
The Details
These new shapes and necks will join the original Tri-Hot 5K models at retail on 2/3/23 and carry a premium $399.99 price point which certainly reflects the materials utilized.

I put the Rossi back in the bag for todays round. 33 total putts with 2 birds. I left 2 other birds on the edge. No 3 putts today. Shot a 76 and had to make a sandy par on 18 from 10 feet to do it. After using the jailbird for a week or so I do like the feel of the Tri hot face better. I have a tournament coming up Oct15th and will be leaving the Rossi in the bag for that.
Apparently I went to Dicks Sports on my lunch break today and spotted a Tri-Hot 5K One there but right handed. Rolled it, liked it alot, next thing I know CPO is 2 daying me a lefty Tri-Hot 5K One. ?
I already own the Tri-Hot 5K Seven. Looks like a Mallot vs Blade battle.
$400 putter on CPO now half price.
Arrived today at work. UPS driver made me open the box as he wanted to see the new club. LOL.

14 putts today on the front 9. I had 4 one putts with 1 birdie and 1 eagle!

Great putting! I can’t get that Rossie out of my head since I rolled yours at AZ National. Rossie with a Garsen, mmm.
Just traded in my Rossie S OG WH for a TRI hot Rossie S With a stroke lab shaft.
I made 2 bombs one 30ft and one around 25ft on my morning 9 with the double wide 5k.
This head with the KBS GPS is cash money.
I want a Tri-Hot Jailbird so bad! I’ll be over the freaking moon if it’s in the 2024 lineup.

It’s the plumber neck. This is the first putter I’ve ever used with one and it just works for me. That combined with the double wide size frames the ball very nicely for me.

That would be awesome!
Back to back birdies were made today with the Rossie! A total of 31 putts for the round. Greens were slow after yesterdays round it took some getting use to. Going to hunt down some fast greens to practice on this week to work on some speed control.
I posted this over in the KBS GPS thread but it needs to be here too.
The Odyssey Tri-Hot 5k Doublewide paired with the KBS GPS shaft is a magic instrument, seriously.
At the start of the year I set a goal for myself to get from around 34-36 putts per round to an average of 30. I’m getting very close to my goal. I’m currently at 31.6.
It’s no coincidence that my putting average started dropping like a rock after acquiring the 5K and putting a KBS GPS in it. The feeling I get with that combo is nothing short of incredible. It’s like they are built for each other. Peanut butter and jelly.
Seeing this thread pop up made me think it was time to review the strongest part of my game for this past season. Yeah I’m saying past season, as the days are dwindling down and it’s pretty likely I’ve played my last round (in Wisconsin at least) for 2023. There might be a random 9 holes that will pop up in the next couple of months, but the forecast doesn’t make it look promising.
I’ve had the Triple Wide 5k putter in the bag since December 21 (Thanks Callaway and the Grandaddy!). I’ve been in love with it every day since. True story – I have a back up Triple Wide in storage just in case something happens to the original. God forbid it gets lost or damaged in any way, I have a back up because I know this putter works for me.
It’s hands down the most consistent club in my bag. It goes bad on me from time to time, but we always figure things out together and get back on track. I’m not making everything from 10+ feet but I get myself close, so consistently in fact that I don’t plan on changing anything with this putter.
That said – I’m a gear junkie and i have a feeling Callaway might come out with something in the next few months that’ll make me re-think this position. But for now I’m dead set on starting 2024 with the Triple Wide 5K in my bag. The feel of it. The weight of it. The sound of it. It’s the only time I can remember in all my years of golf where I didn’t want to upgrade it at some during the last two years. That’s saying something for someone like me.
I could not get a putt to drop today for the life of me. I lipped out 4 birdie putts and one par putt. It was just one of those days where the ball didn’t drop. I might have been walking a few of those in also lol. Speed control was good but what a frustrating day on the greens.
2 seasons with the 5k triple wide in the bag and my putting was really good.
My first round with the Tri-Hot 5k Two and it went ok. I wouldn’t call it a resounding success but that is more me than the putter. My stroke felt fine, lines were good, but pace was off. I am pretty sure it’s me going to an insert over a milled face for the first time in a long time. I found myself needing to put a little more pace on my putts. I think a big part of this were the greens. They were slower than normal with all the rain that has been constant for a couple of weeks. This is a course I have played a lot and I have a pretty good idea of what the greens and breaks will do.
A little frustrating but overall, I think it was an ok first round. I did notice the stability and overall holding the line of the putts. The tech built into these putters is there and it showed up on several putts yesterday.
5k DW w/ KBS GPS made it back in the bag this morning. It was on fire. Sunk a couple from around 10 foot and made a 12ft bird on the last.
It’s earned a spot back for a while.
34 putts today with the Tri Hot #2. Third round with this one and while it’s a solid putter, something is off. I think it’s the face as this is the first insert putter I’ve used in a long time. I find myself having to hit putts a little harder than I do with my milled putter and it’s messing with my speed control.
I think I’m going to hit the practice green this week and take a few putter out and have a little mini battle to settle it.
5k DW is doing work!! It rolls the ball so pure and effortlessly for me. I don’t feel like I can put a bad stroke on the ball with it
Oh yeah, and I made four birdies today
Odyssey TriHot 5k Double Wide Putter Review:
Odyssey, a titan in the putter world, has delivered another marvel with the TriHot 5k Double Wide. This putter is a fortress of stability and forgiveness to sink more putts. It completely turned around my abysmal putting and gave me the confidence to practice harder because I saw a light at the end of the tunnel.
Design and Technology:
The TriHot 5k Double Wide has a visually striking design with a wider blade that inspires a lot of confidence at address. The 303 stainless steel front has been milled to a precise shape and weight to help keep the CG forward. With more forward CG it’s easier to keep putts on the line you start them. The true genius lies beneath the surface though. Odyssey has strategically placed a staggering 120 grams of tungsten behind the face, split between the toe and heel. This front-loaded weighting not only dramatically increases MOI (moment of inertia) but also positions the center of gravity (CG) forward, promoting a smoother roll and incredible forgiveness.
Performance:
The TriHot 5k Double Wide is a game-changer for me I struggle with mis-hits and inconsistent distance control. The high MOI makes it incredibly stable and forgiving, even on off-center strikes. Perfect for a shoddy putter like I was. Putts roll truer and hold their line better thanks to the CG I talked about earlier. The White Hot helped me to dial in my speed and distance control a lot easier than the milled putter I was using.
Overall Feelings:
The Odyssey TriHot 5k Double Wide putter is packed with tech that helps even the worst putters feel better and more confident when they make it to the green. It delivers on its promises. Its exceptional stability, forgiveness, and soft feel make it a top choice for golfers seeking to improve putting performance.

If you want to gain more putting confidence, the Odyssey TriHot 5k Double Wide putter is worth a look. It’s a putter that consistently delivers results, making it never to far from getting back in the bag. It’s my go-to putter when I need a boost of confidence. It can be found for around $299 now or even better deals on available on Callaway preowned.
I think it would be criminal for me to not pop in here and say a few quick words about the day I had yesterday rolling the rock with the 5k DW.
I had one of the best putting days in memory yesterday. Over the course of 4 holes I easily had 100ft of putts made. Dropped a 30ft bomb to save a par then on the very next hole I dropped a 40 footer from the fringe for a birdie.
As some know I’ve dabbled around with a milled putters but keeping it ? I need the tech and forgiveness offered in this putter. The white hot insert just works for me. I do prefer the feel of a milled putter but the results just don’t support it.
