When Odyssey unleashed the Tri-Hot 5K putters on the golf world in 2022, many were left wondering, “Where’s the beef?”. While I know our older generations will appreciate that pop-culture reference, for those of you who may not it is just a witty way of saying, where were the mallets?
The initial Tri-Hot 5K release centered around Odyssey showing off just what their version of the forward weighting concept could do to make a blade play like a mallet. It is upon that success and impressively positive feedback that 2023 sees the company bring the tech and design to two of their most popular mallet shapes ever, and some new neck variations of the Double and Triple-Wide’s.

2023 Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Putters
If you need a refresher on just what the ideology behind Tri-Hot 5K is, the name of the game is moving and placing weight to get the CG more forward which reduces the overall sidespin imparted on off-center putts to keep it on a better line, while also maintaining a higher MOI through materials and shaping. This blend means more forgiveness and better performance.

For 2023, Odyssey is adding the Seven and Rossie shapes to the Tri-Hot 5K lineup as well as new neck variations of the Double-Wide and Triple-Wide. For the latter, there is now a Center Shaft option (TW) and Double Bend (DW) which should make groups of golfers with those specific wants and needs extremely happy. The Seven will be offered in Double Bend, Slant, and Crank Hosel (Plumber’s Neck). Finally, the Rossie, which may be the perfect mallet headshape for the multi-material construction, will be offered in Double Bend and Slant neck only.

The material story this year is the same, with Odyssey blending front sections made from 303 Stainless Steel which are then married to 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum. The visual contrast between the two materials via finish and milling remains as striking as ever, and pictures of the Rossie in particular make that shape look more stunning than ever. Behind that front Stainless section is up to 120-grams of Tungsten depending on the model which behind the heel and toe help bring balance and consistency to the roll.

For those wondering, yes, the Tri-Hot 5K in the new shapes and necks do still utilize additional adjustable weights (5, 10, 15, and 20-gram) that can be purchased to fine tune the weighting even further. The heads also utilize the greatest putter insert of all-time, the White Hot, as well as Red Stroke Lab shaft.
The Details
These new shapes and necks will join the original Tri-Hot 5K models at retail on 2/3/23 and carry a premium $399.99 price point which certainly reflects the materials utilized.

Happy to see the next iteration of the Tri Hot line. The 2022 versions were fantastic putters that felt marvelous. The 2022 TW checked almost all the boxes for me, except when I tried to align the putter. That CS version very likely fixes that for me- so I’m anxious to hit in the wild! Great write up @Jman
Want the Rossi S! Glad to see they added a few head shapes, and neck options to existing models, to the lineup.
I’m info that CS Triple Wide. Maybe one day.
That Seven CH is ???
Some good options for those who like the line and the tec it provides. I’m not a 5k fan, but that 7CH would be my choice if I decided to tinker.

My pocketbook did not want to see that #7 :love::love:
5K is special. It’s nice to see companies stay on this bandwagon.
Double bend double wide

I want to like the Rosie, but the lines on it are not for me.
They look nice. Not sure I’d switch but I’ll roll one
Finally all the good details!
Rossie in 5k with contrast looks great, and I look forward to exploring the 7ch. I wasn’t keen on the feel of these previously but with the new mallet shapes will revisit.
You almost get a bit of the Versa tech without the look of the bold white given the black face and silver back. Might not be as effective as it’s not as bold a look.
I was fit into the Tri-Hot #7 DB at ECPC. I currently game an Eleven but this #7 has me setting her aside. The Tri-Hot was absolutely on fire at the Hideaway! Beautiful to look at, easy to line up and a soft feeling. Absolutely love this putter!!!
Have to say that’s a nice looking finish on that Rossie.
Still infatuated with my 5K Triple Wide Double Bend. Like that they are adding some beef and bends to the line up.

That’s the best looking Rossie iteration, no doubt. The alignment lines look a bit busy but might be just fine for actual putting.
Man I love that triple wide! Great write up @Jman!

Same…. ???
One of the best things about going back to a #7 to me? No more bending over to pick up my ball on tap in putts :p
it would take a major disaster to make me give up my Edel 4.0, but that #7 looks great and that center shaft triple wide just does something for me.
Triple Wide CS(!) was what I was fit into at ECPC. As I mentioned in my live posts and recaps, I could have played pretty much any head shape they offered, but I was coming from a mid mallet, center shafted putter which had worked for me for a very, very long time, over 8 years. What I loved about my center shafted putter was the consistency in setup. While the Tri-hot 5k does not offer the same alignment technology, I can still align the metal portion of the stroke lab putter with the front portion of the triple Wide head to achieve a similar result.
The putter performed very well for me in California. I 3 putted once, on a huge shorty that I straight up pulled, but distance control was very easy to get used to, coming from a fully milled putter before. The stock grip is great if you are onto smaller pistol shapes, and it is just tacky enough, without being really sticky.
The other head I was fit into was the 7s, which had slightly higher launch than the triple Wide, thanks to a slightly further back CG. I could easily game that putter as well.
In the putting lab, I went 4/4, making 2 out of 2 with each head. Knock down loft 1 degree from standard and we are cooking with gas.???

I am not going to hide that my recent infatuation with the Rosie has a lot to do with Rahm.
I know I am beating this horse to death. The two outside lines make sense for alignment, but I do find it a little busy. What is really irking me with this, the lines don’t match the Triple Track. Seems like an oversight
I can see people not liking they don’t match. I use the center line on the Rossie to match the TT and then use the outside lines to look and see if i am crooked. It is a nice quick reference for me. It really is not even a thought on they don’t match the TT perfect. The Rossie head shape is so good i can totally understand why it is so popular.
If you like center shafted putters, please buy one. That way Odyssey will keep making them, right @Luke WilliamsCG ?
The triple wide comes with a slightly larger blade style putter cover. It will fit into a traditional blade sized putter cover, albeit snugly.
Bounce Bend Double Wide would be the one for me if I didn’t already have the plumbers DW! That one looks perfect!
Love the thoughts and pics already from the 22 team!
Double wide with a double bend shaft is calling me. I would like to try to compare to the Chicago, that would be a fun battle.

Great write up, as always, James. I always look forward to your articles.
I just got done buying a Cleveland a Soft Milled 10.5c. And I really like it. But that TWCS is ??????????
I switched from Odyssey and Toulon to Cleveland and won’t look back. Never made so many putts in my life. Putt for the dough and not the show!!

Yeah, the price tag is a bit of a shock, but considering how everything else in life is moving, the price is the same as last season’s releases.
The double bend 7 is calling my name. Can’t wait to see it in person to give it a roll and hopefully it be a keeper!
I really like the rossie model.
Rossie Double Bend. Yes, please!
The CS is calling me. I love my Betti but also love the inserts in the Oddesey putters!
I think her name was Clara Pellar and it was for Wendy’s. 🙂
Beautiful putters no doubt. A bit surprised at the prices, as I never thought of Odyssey putters as “premium”, i.e., Toulon, Cameron, Bettinardi, etc., and would have expected these putters to be in the $200 — $250 range. Then again, I have been using the same putter going on three years, so haven’t really priced any. I just priced the putter I have (exact same model), and it has gone up in price almost $100. I am glad I like my putter so much, lol.
Some great looking putters! That CS Triple Wide is ?? really nice!
Love the look of those triple wides. I’d probably go double wide for my stroke for that smidge of toe hang.
Can’t wait for these to hit the shops.

When you look at the materials used, I’m not surprised at all. 303 isn’t cheap stainless and 6160 is premium aluminum Aircraft Quality like James mentioned in the write up.
There is a global raw metals shortage that the steel industry is dealing with. With the conflict in Ukraine, the two leading importers of raw metals have stopped or have slowed way down. That leaves less options for steel mills and what’s happening is the mills are buying up all of the scrap yards and raw metallic suppliers. Scrap pricing has increased and decreased in massive swings leaving producers feeling uneasy about supply. Prices go up, cost of goods go up.
Nice to see some Grandaddy Experience and feedback on these!!
I’ve rolled a bunch of them, and really liked the 5k of it all. And they look great. I wish I liked the insert better. I have zero memory bias towards them and without that I just don’t get it. To me, $400 is a lot for that insert.
That Rossi is spectacular!
