When Odyssey unleashed the Tri-Hot 5K putters on the golf world in 2022, many were left wondering, “Where’s the beef?”. While I know our older generations will appreciate that pop-culture reference, for those of you who may not it is just a witty way of saying, where were the mallets?
The initial Tri-Hot 5K release centered around Odyssey showing off just what their version of the forward weighting concept could do to make a blade play like a mallet. It is upon that success and impressively positive feedback that 2023 sees the company bring the tech and design to two of their most popular mallet shapes ever, and some new neck variations of the Double and Triple-Wide’s.

2023 Odyssey Tri-Hot 5K Putters
If you need a refresher on just what the ideology behind Tri-Hot 5K is, the name of the game is moving and placing weight to get the CG more forward which reduces the overall sidespin imparted on off-center putts to keep it on a better line, while also maintaining a higher MOI through materials and shaping. This blend means more forgiveness and better performance.

For 2023, Odyssey is adding the Seven and Rossie shapes to the Tri-Hot 5K lineup as well as new neck variations of the Double-Wide and Triple-Wide. For the latter, there is now a Center Shaft option (TW) and Double Bend (DW) which should make groups of golfers with those specific wants and needs extremely happy. The Seven will be offered in Double Bend, Slant, and Crank Hosel (Plumber’s Neck). Finally, the Rossie, which may be the perfect mallet headshape for the multi-material construction, will be offered in Double Bend and Slant neck only.

The material story this year is the same, with Odyssey blending front sections made from 303 Stainless Steel which are then married to 6061 Aircraft Grade Aluminum. The visual contrast between the two materials via finish and milling remains as striking as ever, and pictures of the Rossie in particular make that shape look more stunning than ever. Behind that front Stainless section is up to 120-grams of Tungsten depending on the model which behind the heel and toe help bring balance and consistency to the roll.

For those wondering, yes, the Tri-Hot 5K in the new shapes and necks do still utilize additional adjustable weights (5, 10, 15, and 20-gram) that can be purchased to fine tune the weighting even further. The heads also utilize the greatest putter insert of all-time, the White Hot, as well as Red Stroke Lab shaft.
The Details
These new shapes and necks will join the original Tri-Hot 5K models at retail on 2/3/23 and carry a premium $399.99 price point which certainly reflects the materials utilized.

Not sure I will unseat the Seemore but I feel like I need a little shakeup.

I can can appreciate that. If you get along with the Garsen Max let me know. I might be able to hook you up with a Odyssey Tour version of it.

I actually put a Max on my putter now and totally dig it. I played with @Doubleb21 last week and he had the Tour version. Not sure if he got that through you. It looked sweet.
I might have helped him with that. It’s pretty sweet!
So 33 total putts today with one eagle. I rolled 1 bird right over the edge i really thought it was in and two par putts did the same. I had 4 one putts on the front 9 and @Wildcat4life was cheering me on he figured I made about 100 feet of putts lol. One of the best days of putting i have had in along time. The Rossie with the new Garsen Max Tour grip is working for me! best putt of the round was about 35 feet today. I was about 5 feet off the green with a downhill breaking left putt. Rolled it right in the right edge!

More lunchtime putting practice today. Worked on 5 feet and in and then really long lag putts having to make the second putt. I then switched greens and worked uphill and downhill speed putts and then putting from off the green. The Rossie just rolls the ball so nice. The new Garsen grip is A keeper.

It might be worth giving them a call and asking. Maybe they have one that hasn’t been listed yet, or can keep an eye out for you. Can’t hurt to ask.

Hadn’t thought of that….. Thanks!
Double wide 5k showed up as I was getting in the car to drive down the street to the club. Of course I hurriedly unboxed it and used it for my match tonight.
Honeymoon period is in full effect 30 total putts (normally I averaged 34-36) no 3 putts. I also rolled in 2 birdies from around 15 ft.
some of it is a testament to the wedge game that I’ve been working so hard on lately, but I do really enjoy the role of this putter, very forgiving, and keeps putts online especially off the toe.
Can’t wait to get the KBS GPS shaft in there. I can’t imagine how much more stable it’s going to get.
Another 15 putt effort today on the back 9. Definitely helped by not having to putt on #13. :ROFLMAO:

Went back out to skip around a bunch of different holes play approach, shots, and putt. I just make putts with this double wide. Holed a bunch from variety of distances up to about 15ft.
Something about it makes me enjoy the framing of the ball so much. I feel comfortable when I’m over it. I can’t exactly explain why. It could be the plumbers neck. I’ve never played one before. It could be moving back to the wide blade it’s just longer and more inviting. Maybe it’s the two-tone color. Could be the extra forgiveness. I just don’t know.
Whatever it is. I hope it doesn’t leave me.

It’s confidence. Don’t lose it!
It’s only been two rounds with my new Three but man I love what I’m seeing. Was +1.96 SG versus a scratch golfer last night, including holing three putts over 10 feet (in 9 holes). I just feel like I am hitting my lines so much more with this. If I could just get the rest of my game to come around
Confidence is building with the double wide. I had a look back at my Grint stats today and it’s clearly noticeable by my dramatic decrease in 3 putts when I put the 5k into play.

I had a 14 putt 9 holes today. Again, some of that was attributable to great wedge play. However, I did sink a 12ft birdie putt and made 2 long-ish par saves from around 10ft.
Great day with the Tri-Hot 5k Rossie DB! No 3 putts and tons of confidence. If I don’t get close it’s because I misread something. This putter is really good!

Outside this morning for some putting practice. I really enjoy the shape and color of the Tri-Hot 5k Rossie DB. One of the things I was a little concerned about was glare in the sun. There just isn’t any off the putter head.
Amazing what these can do. Pretty great watching the ball roll true and into the cup. Even Dude the Doodle had to stop and watch this morning.

Love my double wide. Love it. And I don’t like blade putters, always have been a mallet guy. This one is like two birds with one stone.
Fun afternoon on some awesome greens. The ball just rolls so nice off the Tri hot Rosie it is awesome to watch!
Rolled the Triple Wide yesterday in the store. In the words of Lloyd, I like it a lot.
I need to roll the center-shafted triple-wide, but can’t find anyone nearby that has one in stock.

Been going back through this thread and re-reading. I did really well with a center shafted putter for the testing with TEEm Tour Edge last year and am coming to realize, I align better with center shafted putters.
I bought the 10.5c Soft Milled less than a month before the TWCS came out. I truly don’t regret it because I’m putting really well with it but the TWCS is really really good.
The double-wide treated me nicely today. Front nine I had 5 one putts. A total of 7 one-putts on the day. Two birdies.
30 total putts.
I am completely head over heels in love with this thing!

Triple Wide is a great putter!
Played 36 today and he only 1 3 putt. The greens were pretty baked out and it was 106 degrees for the 2nd round. I had a great day of lag putting and I left 4 short that were a 1/2inch short lol. I also made some solid par saves. I did have birdie looks just was notable to convert today.

The Triple Wide has been serving me so well lately and I already have a backup TW in the stable (you never know what could happen). But I’ve been tempted to find a Double Wide to play around with. Idk why but I just like the looks of the Double better.
Might pick one up soon to play around with.

So earlier this week I went on a “mission” to mess around with the Odyssey 7 style putters. Kinda warming up to them. Anyway, been messing around on their website. They offer 3 shafts, 5 different lies, 12 lengths, and 51 grip choices.
What the hell? I’ve been living under a rock.
?
35 putts today with the Rossie while that is high I was not rolling the ball bad at all. The greens were about a 12 today. I had 2-3 putts and i just missed the slight downhill on one of those reading it wrong. I did have 2-1 putts today and I bet I burned 5-6 edges that I thought were dropping in. Putting practice at lunch has stopped because it is so hot out. I need to get back at that and figure out a time to fit it in or just suffer on the green for a bit.
