2024 Callaway Apparel Fall Collection

In many ways, it seems like the golf season just started, but as we proceed into August there’s no denying that Fall golf is quickly approaching. Though for many, Fall represents the end of the season approaching, it’s still one we look forward to for a variety of reasons. One thing that is required, at least in cooler climates, is apparel that can adapt to a variety of conditions. You may start a round with warm layering pieces, only to end up in a polo designed to keep you cool by the end of the round. Callaway Apparel, designed by fashion industry leader, Perry Ellis International, is bringing an expansive line of clothing to help you look and feel your best this Fall. Let’s take a look at what’s coming.

Polos

We had a chance to sample three polos from Callaway Apparel’s Fall collection. Two were the same blend of materials in different patterns, while the third was made of a slightly different material blend. One thing each of these polos have in common is that they all incorporate, at least in part, Callaway’s Eco fabric, which is partially made of recycled polyester. All three also share the same Callaway technologies that have been stalwarts of their polos for a while now. Opti-Dri helps wick away moisture, making these great shirts for warm days, but just as importantly, as layering pieces. They also feature UPF 50 Sun Protection, which is a feature we appreciation more and more as we age.

The polo in Spiced Coral above, featuring 90% recycled polyester and 10% elastane, was incredibly soft to the touch. We could even go as far as to say this shirt borders on feeling “luxurious”. The bright, but somewhat conservative pattern matches well with a variety of bottoms and includes small details like the Callaway Chevron embroidered on the three-button placket.

Picture above we have two polos, both in the Galaxy Blue colorway, but featuring different patterns. These two polos feature a blend of 56% polyester, 30% recycled polyester, and 14% elastane. As you can see, both patterns are going to draw some eyes, with intricate designs contrasting against the background. The fabric isn’t quite as nice to the touch as the 90/10 blend but is still soft and thin enough to feel high-end. These collars have a bit more structure to them and they held up well in the wash.

The Fall 2024 Collection polos range in price from $70 to $80. They fit true to size, with a traditional fit that provides ample space in the midsection, shoulders, and trunk.

Bottoms

Both shorts and pants are needed at some point late in the season, and Callaway Apparel is supplying both in this line. The lightweight shorts have a faint, lined pattern and are very traditional in hem length and fit. These are classic, no-frills shorts that will work at any course you find yourself at. They have a slight stretch to them, making it easy to move and achieve your desired fit. The Opti-Dri technology is a proven performer on warm days and makes this a pair of shorts you’ll gladly grab from the closet week after week.

The Flat Front Pants feature Callaway Apparel’s Eco fabric, with a mix of 53% polyester, 39% recycled polyester, and 8% Elastane. These aren’t the softest feeling pants we’ve tried recently, but they were still comfortable to wear thanks to the stretchy fabric and comfort waistband. The pants also feature Opti-Dri and UPF 50 sun protection.  A zippered back pocket adds a nice touch, giving some confidence that you won’t inadvertently leave your wallet somewhere on the course.

The Fall 2024 Collection shorts range in price from $72 to $80 and the pants from $86 to $96.

Outerwear

The rightful star of the show with Fall collections is the outerwear, and Callaway Apparel is bringing several options that will work for a variety of conditions and style preferences. We sampled two pieces that were easy to fall in love with and (somehow) made us excited for temperatures to drop.

The first, a textured ¼ zip thermal pullover, came in bright white with silver accents. The 70% polyester and 30% recycled polyester blend features an incredibly soft fleece interior that feels great against the skin and will provide a ton of warmth. At the same time, Opti-Dri should help avoid uncomfortable sweating when the sun comes out. Callaway uses something they call Swing Tech in this pullover, and we found it permitted free movement. The item was very true to size, though sometimes we think it’s best to size up for outerwear to permit ease in layering (which we did for this review).

Perhaps our favorite item in the entire collection was the ¼ zip golf hoodie in Peacoat Heather. This is a great piece that should find its way into any hoodie fan’s closet this fall. Featuring Swing Tech Max, it somehow felt like it was sufficiently form-fitting to be stylish and unintrusive while being incredibly easy to move around in. The fabric was soft to the touch, both inside and out. Two features we loved were the front pockets and hood that came up to around chin level.

Finally, and possibly most impressive, is the addition of Nanotex Aquapel to the hoodie. This technology repels water, is eco-friendly, and retains breathability. We went as far as to hold the hoodie under running water to see how it worked and were highly impressed with how water just flowed right off the fabric. This is a perfect all-weather hoodie that we can’t wait to get on the course.

The Fall 2024 Collection outerwear pieces range in price from $85 to $165.

Ladies Apparel

Though we didn’t get a chance to sample the ladies’ pieces, Callaway Apparel is dropping a full women’s line as well. It will consist of polos, outwear, and bottoms, including skirts, dresses, and pants. Many of the same technologies, like Opti-Fit and Swing Tech, are present in the ladies’ line, along with Truesculpt, which is designed to create a smooth, flattering look with the bottoms.
