When it comes to choosing your golf ball, there are a lot of factors that go into it. Obviously the performance side such as distance, spin and launch angle. There is the subjective side, such as look, feel and of course price. Then there is the other opinion side, which is how you align with a brand or logo. The Srixon SOFT FEEL checks an awful lot of boxes on the above list for people and they are dropping their 14th generation of this ball and it will hit stores March 3rd, 2025.
This all new Srixon SOFT FEEL has a number of updates from the version we last tested. Despite it being a 2 piece, fairly value priced golf ball, it has a very solid reputation and core group of golfers that love what it offers, without breaking the bank.

What’s Changed
The new 2025 Srixon SOFT FEEL has an update to its core. Srixon calls their golf ball cores, FastLayer Core and this one had some changes take place. It gradually transitions from a soft inner to a firm outer edge, mimicking a core with thousands of layers.
What does that mean? In theory, you should see more distance without any compromise to the feel you are accustomed to.
SOFT FEEL has a long-standing reputation among avid golfers, and this new generation is pushing the performance limits even further. For a lot of people, feel is everything when they’re choosing a ball, so having one that prioritizes feel but also values distance and playability makes it a game-changer.
Brian Schielke, Vice President of Business Planning at Srixon
Distance is great, but that isn’t the only thing that the new FastLayer Core is improving on. Off the tee, spin reduction, resulting in less curve should help a variety of golfers. While you shouldn’t see any reduction in your scoring irons, as the club gets longer, and the swing more violent at impact, less spin will be in play.
Other Key Features & Benefits
- 338 Speed Dimple Pattern: To get more distance overall and better performance in the wind, Speed Dimples reduce drag at launch and increase lift during descent.
- Soft Thin Cover: Provides more greenside spin and softer feel on all pitches, chips, and putts.

The Options
2025 Srixon SOFT FEEL comes in its traditional Soft White and Tour Yellow models. However, SOFT FEEL BRITE is also available. The BRITE models feature Matte Visual Performance (MVP), enhancing visibility on the course with three different color options, while maintaining the high-level performance characteristics of the standard model.

Such an iconic golf ball. I enjoy giving these to kids on my middle school golf team. Can’t wait to get a couple of boxes of these to give away along with supersofts.
I’ve used this ball before and it’s pretty soft, so not the ball for me, but glad to see this ball evolve and the price point is good. Love the color options as well!
Arguably the original Soft ball. The one that people reached for at least.
Srixon’s core technology is legit, so there’s no doubt this ball will perform. Price is hanging in there while some other similar balls have gone up, which I like to see.
Love the color options. Might have to grab a box or two. I like to keep a ball like this in my bag for when the mood strikes me.

The price was something I noticed as well still hanging in there at a good price.

Yea, with this type of golf ball, things like color options and price are really what I’m looking at first.
when i started playing, this was my ball. great ball.
Need to try these against the Volvik XT Soft. With military discount, it’s just under $20 a dozen ??
When I used to play a Lot years ago I never thought about changing the Ball i use in Winter Rounds. Now, reading THP Threads I’m leaning towards a softer Ball for Winter use. This might be the one to compare to a Vice Ball I just ordered.

For this target market, price is important. I think it’s important in general but especially for this target segment.
the article is right, this ball does come with a solid reputation in the budget ball price range. Any change has to be carefully calculated, and I assume needs to retain a lot of that soft presence while maintaining great durability.
It’s a ball my family regularly plays. I’m looking forward to seeing them try this version.
The soft feel ball is such a good budget friendly ball. Both my brothers tend to play these as they don’t golf much and are more company scramble event golfers so these really check the boxes for them.

Agree (obviously since I wrote it), but I think they have something with this one, which isn’t too soft for those that do not get along with the ultra plush balls, and not too firm, to where they are creating more spin.
The Soft Feel is probably my favorite sub-$30 golf ball. I don’t find it as pillowy soft as a DUO for instance, and I like it’s reliable performance around the greens. I still have a couple dozen of the last iteration in my closet, but I won’t hesitate to try out this new version.

If comparing to say a callaway ball how soft is it? LIke supersoft?
So … many .. colors! 😮
This has always been a favorite of mine. I still throw one in the mix every now and then and can play it without missing a beat. I’ll have to grab a dozen of the new ones to try.

I would thinks so but not sure.
Something to look at for my wife. She loves pink and that’s an offered color. And the price isn’t bad either.

And if she has tried Soft Feel in the past, she will like these.
I’ve always lovingly called these the Toyota Corolla of golf balls. I can’t stress enough that to me it’s high praise.
Great price point and they ALWAYS perform. I Really need to check out the colors too.

Pink golf balls are fun to use with the guys too, nothing better than bombing one past your buddies with a pink golf ball haha
might give these a spin this year. At the tail end of last year, came across one in the simulator and gave it a try. And I was shocked how much higher it flew on my wedge play. I am assuming it was a 2024 model, so will invest $25 to see how the new ones play.
I played these in the fall when the softer feel helped in cold weather. They performed really well and the price is right. I’m a sucker for a bright color and soft feel – and liked these a lot.

…or if they Top one and it doesn’t reach the Lady’s Tee, hand one to them and say, “I think you dropped this”.
