Many companies provide lightweight golf equipment specifically designed for golfers with moderate swing speeds, but none do it quite like XXIO. XXIO has built its reputation by delivering high-performance equipment tailored for this demographic, all while offering a luxurious experience. With innovative technology, a fresh design, and enhanced visual elegance, XXIO is thrilled to introduce the Prime lineup to the world.
“The design elements for this generation of Prime are our best ever with an expanded sweet spot in the Woods to help with distance gains, and upgrades in the Irons that should excite a wide variety of players, especially those that are struggling to maintain speed in their golf swing. At XXIO we are 100% committed to the needs of Women and Seniors. If you want more power without the extra effort but desire to maintain control throughout the set, Prime is what you’re looking for.”
– XXIO Vice President Chuck Thiry
2025 XXIO Prime Drivers

The 2025 XXIO Prime drivers not only boast a stylish appearance but also incorporate several key technologies designed to help golfers with moderate swing speeds achieve greater distance. These ultralight drivers feature the innovative BiFlex face, which includes strategically placed stiffness patterns around the perimeter to enhance face flexion, resulting in increased ball speed. Additionally, the face is equipped with a new Precision Milling Pattern and a draw-biased face bulge, which help to create a more optimal gear effect and maintain performance in wet conditions.

A notable feature of the XXIO Prime driver is the ActivWing technology, which is located on the heel side of the club’s crown. When companies discuss aerodynamics, many golfers often assume that the focus is solely on increasing the clubhead’s speed. However, ActivWing utilizes aerodynamic principles to help golfers square the clubhead at impact. It does this by stabilizing the clubhead, which leads to a more consistent delivery. As many golfers know, a more repeatable clubhead delivery results in more consistent contact, ultimately improving performance.
XXIO Prime drivers are available in two lofts, 10.5° and 11.5°.
2025 XXIO Prime Fairways/Hybrids

When it comes to fairway woods, the 2025 XXIO Prime incorporates several exciting technologies similar to those found in the driver lineup. It features a draw-biased bulge face equipped with a new precision milling pattern, both designed to improve directional stability and keep the ball in play. Additionally, the BiFlex face enhances ball speed and expands the sweet spot. Both the fairway woods and hybrids benefit from ActivWing technology, which helps generate more consistent contact throughout this segment of the bag.

One piece of technology exclusively featured on the fairways and hybrids is the Cannon Sole. This innovative design helps lower the center of gravity, providing golfers with increased launch and distance benefits. Internally, the Cannon Sole includes a larger weight pad that spans from the heel to the toe. The advantage of this design is that it enables a significant shift in the center of gravity (CG) location without negatively affecting the flexibility of the clubface.
XXIO Prime fairway woods are offered in four different models: 3W(15°), 5W(18°), 7W(21°), and 9W(24°). Hybrids are offered in five loft options: H4(19°), H5(22°), H6(25°), H7(28°), and H8(31°).
2025 XXIO Prime Irons

For the irons, XXIO is going with a four-piece design that, similar to the woods, is built to help promote higher launch and increased distance. Several key technologies contribute to making these irons among the easiest to elevate. First, they feature 50 grams of tungsten nickel positioned closer to the club’s sole. This concentrated weight lower in the clubhead helps in several important ways for the XXIO Prime irons: it lowers the center of gravity, promotes a higher launch, and enhances directional stability. Given the low placement of the center of gravity, it is not surprising that these irons have strong lofts; for example, the seven iron has a loft of 28°.

To accommodate the lower-positioned 50 grams of tungsten nickel, XXIO designed a groove along the outer perimeter of the clubhead, along with a hollow cavity. Combined with the L-Groove, these features contribute to mass redistribution and help create the Rebound Frame. This design allows for more consistent ball speeds and launch characteristics, thanks to the stronger and thinner titanium face. XXIO tested the new Prime seven iron against the previous generation and found that the updated model produced an additional 1.3 MPH of ball speed.

Every club in the 2025 XXIO Prime lineup features the SP-1300 Shaft, which is crafted from TORAYCA fibers and an advanced NANOALLOY resin matrix. This innovative combination provides an exceptional balance of strength and flexibility, enabling XXIO to incorporate ultralight shafts throughout the entire collection. One key characteristic of the SP-1300 shaft is its more flexible butt section, which helps increase swing speed. For the driver and fairway metals, shaft weight ranges from 35 to 38 grams, while the hybrids and irons come with shafts weighing between 42 and 46 grams.

Those are much, much, better looking than any XXIO I have seen in the past. I am used to XXIO looking like cheap tramps with far too much makeup on.
Still a bit much for my taste, but far more subdued than any offering of theirs I can recall. Being a senior myself, I might even be able to give one a hit at Carl’s without gagging.
I used the XXIO Prime in my driver #2 spot for years.
The new face on the Prime with the etching looks fantastic.

The face etching does look cool. The draw bias face bulge caught my eye. I might be that I just missed it some other releases from other companies, but first time I’ve seen a company say it has a draw bias face bulge. Not a fan of the looks of the sole, but that can be looked over if it performs.

I am surprised that you used one. I always thought of XXIO as a club for slower swings.
Interesting. I actually expected these to be priced higher.
The draw biased bulge is very cool and I’d love to see it in action. Could provide significant help for some players.
I like the overall color scheme. Would like to see the driver lose the catch phrase.
Looks decent, not priced as outrageous as I thought. Maybe more people will look at XXIO. Personally, I’ll wait for them to install that technology into a Srixon/Cleveland club.

How its messaged for sure. Which makes sense in its stock configuration.

The draw bias is most likely a deal breaker for me. I might be slowing down, but that doesn’t mean my path and face angle went askew. 50 years later and I still suffer a hook miss.
Priced a lot lower than I thought they’d be. XXIO is doing a good job of addressing the needs of the golfing demographic they’re targeted towards.
Nice write up @ddec
Nice looking set of clubs for sure!
Interesting face on the Driver with the draw bias, first time I think I’ve heard of that.
I enjoyed reading about the technology and design elements behind these XXI clubs, especially the lightweight shafts. Very nice clubs.
XXIO Prime didn’t work for me. Expensive experiment.
The irons look really good. I feel like that fact design could work really well on the fairways…at least for me.
Check out the ferrule on the irons. Just an awesome touch.

It’s very busy, I’m trying to decide if I like it or if it’s distracting. It’s definitely a defining feature.
