Off Course is back this week with a fantastic show. Hosted by Dan Edwards each Friday he gives you a deep look into the world of golf and equipment in a way unlike any other podcast has done before. Today THP Staff Writer James Miles joins the show to talk about equipment, coaching golf and more.
It wouldn’t be Off Course without some tangents, but we take a deep dive into what it is like testing golf equipment for a living and how a company like Tour Edge pushes boundaries. This show has a lot going on and it is an episode you will not want to miss as James Miles Goes Off Course.

Episode 37 is here and Dan and his guest James Miles discuss the following topics.
Being a High School Coach
Writing About and Testing Equipment
Tour Edge Bringing High Tech
And so much more
You can listen to the show right here, Apple Podcasts or of anywhere you do your listening and downloading from. Yeah, I didn’t get there. I had to go low-key for a bit after the hair bet stare, and then turn it off about 10 minutes later when she threw a fit about some boxes, and asked if the guy on there was the one whose wife hates all his boxes…. It seemed like a no-win scenario to continue in present company.
And then I ran away to go golfing.

The way I tell it, told it (thanks for that post the other day @Jman  ), is that she’s the only one that has a problem with it. She’s irrational, and all other wives support husbands, clubs, AND boxes. It was the only defensible position I had one particular day, and I’ve had to stick with it.
I used to remind her that buying new boxes to ship clubs adds up, but she pretty much in the tough **** camp on that at this point.

Im glad you enjoyed it brotherman!
@Jman @Canadan great episode, really looking forward to seeing you guys at the tech studio in a couple of weeks. James I’m with Dan regarding the one length for a year challenge, I just can’t see it. Going from icon’s to one length GI irons seems like too big of a stretch. But I think Dan should play blades

Haha, I love all the doubt! It’s fuel!:ROFLMAO:
All comes down to numbers for me, if I can elevate them and they gap well enough, I’ve got no qualms giving them a run.
Listening now. Great stuff. @Jman continues to pump the b21 haha. Love it!

How much of the appeal is for your coaching? I can see that once you learn the story behind OL for you, then you would be in a better place to help your new players if they would be a good candidate for OL. Having that personal knowledge would certainly help you as a coach.

None honestly. It’s purely the story, and my never ending desire to know more about things with first hand experience

I get that. It’s how I feel about playing PTX Pros. They don’t hide my flaws at the top end. Don’t push me as much as I thought. And completely love how they preform when I swing relaxed and well.
then there ishow they feel when you find the center. ?
Great end of year listen.. looking forward to what @Canadan comes up with next year..
Another great podcast by Canadian. He and Jman talking golf. Thoroughly enjoyed it. First time I’ve really heard Jman – so that was great. But the best is I hope the MuscleBack vs Single Length shaft challenge is on. That needs a full season thread of its own. Great job guys!!
I’m really enjoying the podcasts Dan. You and James click quite well. James you have enough putters already don’t ya think? I’m kidding …. really. Sounds like you really enjoy trying new and different things like the playing lefty so I’m guessing the one lenght irons will be a piece of cake for you. Dan I know you can play any mb if you have to. Go with the Srixon ZX7. Just saying
Looking forward to the next podcast
The important question is where can I find info on the Justin boots with golf spikes?
“Let’s get my Kutcher on” should be the THP 2021 battle cry ?.
Great stuff fellas, a fun listen. I think Jman would be just fine with OL irons. Would love to see that happen, along with a picture every golf day. It would be like a THP Flat Stanley.
Awesome job @Canadan and @Jman -very enjoyable.
@Canadan and @Jman – Wanted to say thank you for the enjoyable end of the year podcast. The conversation gave us great insight into y’all inner workings with each other. I’m on board with the idea of Dan swinging the MB’s and jealous that James is “going for 250” this year. Thanks again.
@Canadan and @Jman really enjoyed the podcast. Look forward to the one length and muscle back commitment in 2021.
Just now got to listen to podcast. Enjoy all the info you all provide. Have made it a priority to listen each week. Great episode. Not into shit kickers but have no issue with jeans on most of the courses we get to play in Oklahoma. Look forward to what May or not becoming from maybe callaway. Thanks for the tease.
Great Podcast @Canadan and @Jman ! Just great banter between you two!
@Jman love the passion you have for golf equipment, I could sense that during the podcast, and I can say that it definitely shines through in the depth of your reviews!
Love the talk on coaching. Once you start seeing the kids go off and achieve all this success, it really makes you proud to be a part of it. Then they come back for alumni games, or to watch the newest group of current players, and its amazing for it to come full circle. Jobs, weddings, kids, etc. Just amazing! Been coaching high school soccer for the last 10 years, and wavering a bit on the next year, because my kids are getting older, but thinking about all those kids I’ve coached, makes me want to keep going!
As for OL during 2021:

Finally got around to finish listening to the podcast! As usual, @canadan killed it with @Jman! Well done! Loved the conversation and definitely could hear the emotion and passion James has for coaching… whether football or golf…. definitely figured it out that all kids are different which is the battle…. at least for a therapist. Definitely looking forward to seeing you guys and the equipment choices for 2021! Should be fun!
Finally listened in, part of it while in the shower….you know who you are @Jman
Man I needed to hear this. Loved every minute.
