Gloves in golf are pretty utilitarian. They serve a purpose and for the most part do so with very little in the way of design. Most sport the logo of your favorite company and there are certainly options that offer more function than others, but generally speaking there is little thought of from the aesthetics side of things.
Asher Golf is not a new name, but yet one that might have slipped passed you. The brand was born with the idea that golfers cared about how they look on the course. Nice shorts or pants, polo shirt, clean shoes and then that bland dried out crusty glove just wouldn’t cut it.
The idea was real and the belief was that the golf world needed a high quality option that added a little fashion to the mix. Not fashion over function, but fashion and function in a price tag that mirrored the competition’s plain white alternative.
The first time we met the company, they asked us something that hit home. “Think back to the time you were grabbing a new glove from an absolute sea of white gloves in thin packages, what made one stand out from the other?”.
Good question, and Asher Golf seems to have figured it out. Over the last few years, the brand has expanded into other items such as clothing and accessories, but their mark is the glove and they have options in a number of price ranges and more styles than you can imagine.
You want colors? Sure, Asher has many to choose from. Do you like skulls or skeletons? Check out the Death Grip Model (image below) which is a fun play on words. Want to add some style without breaking the bank? Their Chuck line is very inexpensive and has some unique looks to boot.
Trying them out, we got a chance to sample their Premium Collection. High end, cut from a single piece of AAA Cabretta Leather and a fit that is exactly what you want in a glove. Speaking of fit, their gloves run true to size, so if shopping now, keep your regular sizing in mind.
The three things we get most requested about golf gloves are simple.
- How does it fit?
- Tell me about the durability?
- Price?
We tackled number one in the paragraph above. Number three is a pretty easy one. They have gloves starting at barely over $10. We can expand on durability a bit now. Is there something to Asher gloves that make them more durable than other options? In a word, no, but they aren’t less durable either. In fact over the years, I have tested a lot of gloves and each of the Asher lines has held up to the competition quite well.
With more than a handful of different lines and a new one dropping shortly, Asher does have something for just about everybody. From the NBA to a skeleton look and everything in between. I am partial to the Alta 2.0 (above) personally, but strictly based on the look and how well it contrasts, but also for just how different it is.
For more information, check out their website at www.ashergolf.com and drop us a note below with which glove you think is your favorite.
I used the Alta 2.0 today and never took it off. It also matched my outfit.
How Lexi of you.
I was matchy matchy before she was born hahahaha.
My reason for this, is depending on what manufacturer makes the glove, the sizing has been completely different – I have worn everything from a small to medium-large depending on the manufacturer so I couldn’t say what size I would want if I was to try them, without actually trying them on first to find out what size I need
Also, one particular glove changed in size when they changed the design slightly but kept the same name, so I feel there is no standard (a bit like a lot of things in golf I guess)
I have found a bit differently as of late. FJ, Callaway, Cobra, etc have all been similar sizes. Especially in finger length.
So when I mentioned in the article true to size, it would be in relation to those.
Cheers JB
It may be that things have changed, I was just reflecting on something I had seen in the past – not a knock on the review, just a personal observation based on my past experience with a particular glove from one manufacturer
I think the Asher in the nimbus color would match my grey Jordan spikes
Sadly, they probably would match well.
They are based out by you in Park City I believe.
That makes sense then why I’ve seen them for a while. I think I remember seeing other things like golf bags or hats as well.
I’ve been pondering Asher for a couple years now and the Alta has always appealed to me. I guess I just keep waiting for a sale to make the jump. I do appreciate that they do different and cool well.
Anyone have any comparisons?
Good old three bars coming in hot!
What’s up, Michael!? Glad to see you landed a cool gig. I’m looking forward to seeing what Asher comes out with in gloves and bags over the next year or two. It’s great to see you here on THP.
Looking forward to your thoughts and if you see an improvement.
Awesome! Thanks for listening!
I’ll say it. I’m a Costco member and typically like their products but I’ll say their gloves suck. I say this only because they don’t offer them for left handed golfers. If they did, I’d buy them. But they don’t. So I can’t. Hence, they suck.
Seriously though, between Asher gloves (I can’t get to their website from work to check it out… but that’s typical for this network) and caddydaddy, I’m gonna be set for gloves. Assuming that Asher makes left handed golfer gloves. Which I can’t check right now because my work network sucks.
Were you able to check them out?
I did. And they’re some really nice looking gloves

I put one of the Premium gloves in play this weekend, and was throughly impressed.
A couple of questions:
Hey Dax,
Glad you liked the product!
We won’t be doing cadet sizes most likely. We believe in true sizes only. We have found very few people actually need a cadet size.
Possibly, licensing can be quite the hassle, but if the demand is there we will make it happen.

I have one collegiate licensing idea for you to consider…. ?
Nobodu wants to wear a mediocre glove Dax ?
That’s pretty sweet. I’ve been eyeing Almigos a lot this year. Pretty cool stuff.
1. Held up pretty well in the humidity. My tee time was early (7:50) and it was pretty humid out. The first few holes especially and the glove held up. It didnt show the sweat like other gloves I’ve owned.
2. I have come to appreciate the softness of the materials used. Not too thin and not too thick. It’s hard to describe, but it fits just right.
3. I take my glove off after every shot. partly to let it air out with the humidity. I’ve had issues with other gloves quickly having the fingers stretched out, or the palm area. Granted it’s only one round, but this one held up pretty good.
4. Sizing is right there with other gloves. I have a regular M/L glove and usually my complaint is with the thumb being too big, but I didn’t have that issue here.
Overall I am happy so far after one round. My gloves usually last me several months before I need to replace them, so I will keep an eye out on durability.

the extra fashion pieces always have me curious about these, the dead man grip gloves are fantastic, the better price point seems great as well.
It’s a miss not offering cadet sizes IMO
@maxw72 these are the ones you got that came in the cool box right?
Man those look good.
Their stuff is really fun.
