Discussion on the THP Forum over the last few months has been fantastic and one topic that comes up quite often as golfers’ reach the half way point of the year is always “what is the best?”. Today THP is asking for your feedback. You tell us what is the best driver of 2014.
Here is the criteria to use in your measurements to determining what is the best.
*Distance you are seeing
*Forgiveness you are seeing (how penal across the face)
*Subjective categories such as look, feel and sound
*Must be in the current lineup for a company in 2014 (if it came out in late 2013 and is one of the company’s current releases, that counts
So you tell us, what is the best driver of 2014.
Big Bertha Alpha for me. I have a Big Bertha as well and like it a lot, but the Alpha refuses to be knocked out of the bag. I prefer a more pear-shaped driver, so the Alpha just looks better to my eye. The sound and feel of the Alpha are very appealing.
I have dropped backspin by 1,000 RPM and picked up 10 to 15 yards. The Alpha is at least as forgiving as any driver I’ve ever played. I put a Graphite Design Tour AD DI in it, and now it’s even better.
I picked up 27 yards with the Big Bertha over the Taylormade SLDR. The SLDR wasn’t forgiving and it was the biggest disappointment of the year and the Callaway club was exactly what I was looking for – long, forgiving, and great sound and looks – it’s in the bag to stay!!!
