While visiting Briggs Ranch last week, and the now famous and iconic Truck Stop at the turn for fresh made tacos and drinks, it dawned on me that some legendary places have some solid options.
While we are partial to these incredible eats, what is the best food you have had at the turn?

I am not much for eating a lot at the turn but I did have a taco at the Briggs taco truck.
Fisher’s Island does a toasted PB&J with bacon that is pretty awesome. I have read about the burger dog at the Olympic Club that is supposed to be awesome.
Winchester CC in MA does a really good hotdog with a grilled roll. I am in eastern MA but have never come across the lobster roll that @Cruskater referenced.

The bison dog I had at Big Cedar Lodge was solid. I’m not a big eater at the turn though either.

Combine that bison dog and the Snickers ice cream bar they are good. Still pales in comparison to the taco truck at Briggs

Quick, cheap, and simple…all you really need.

That wasnt the question. It was what is the best.

That is never the right answer.

Wrong.
See GrayBull Live thread.

I dont know the headcover, but it looks like a dong with a nutter butter wrapped around it.

Being quick, cheap, and simple also makes it the best.

The Hideaway Snicky Snack station is next level too.
Agree with this! It is the best food i have seen on course. The taco truck is just next level though.
Only time I’ve ever gotten food other than a snack bar or the like was a club wrap at Hilton Head. It was decent but nothing to write home about.

Canned Gatorade is goat level.

It still amazes me that some can and will eat basically a full meal at the turn.
Wild.

I grab a Snickers or a hotdog/brat and go
None! Keep it moving, not trying to be here 6 hours.
Best I’ve yet to experience would have to be Briggs taco truck. Best I’ve had, would have to be a bacon egg and cheese croissant at legacy golf links in North Carolina. Wasn’t anything special but hit so good at the turn.
Rueben Sliders at the Hideaway, far and away the best couple bites of food I have ever had at the turn.

In Japan you stop at the turn and have an hour long full sit down lunch. When you come in they give you a tee time for starting the back 9.

Dude
Quivara in Cabo has a places on the course that make tacos and they were some of the best I had in all of Cabo. Not technically at the turn as I think there are 2 or 3 of them but they were so damn good
A course here did raclette which was phenomenal!
Tacos are the superior turn food. They were amazing at the Hideaway
I’m a hot dog guy, but end of last year had a terrible experience with a cartner grabbing me one. Came back slathered in ketchup. If I wasn’t starving, would’ve thrown it out.
Tacos at the turn seems like a game changer but I’ve never had the pleasure.
I love me some tacos but I can’t imagine eating a taco or 6 at the turn. I would be burping the whole 9 holes.
it’s a close call between the Briggs Taco truck and the Snicky SHack at the Hideaway
I know many people grab a hot dog at the turn and while acceptable the Taco’s would kill that! I have had a burger dog (log of a burger)), served on a hot dog bun) but still, not a Briggs taco.
I am at a loss to find something better since I have not had a Runza.
These tacos and quesadillas are amazing.
My favorite turn food are wraps though.

Correct. I’ve never had a turn burrito but I would love that.

Well, is a hand-held meal, which is good.

Samoset in Maine. Wish they had a real halfway house instead of the clubhouse grille. Takes too long.
If it is grab and go, probably a chicken salad wrap. If we have time to sit, then that Ballyhack Smash burger definitely.
Call me sheltered. I’ve only ever played golf at one course that had a dedicated turn shack, ABCC, and it was under construction at the time. I’m not much on eating mid round. Best thing I can remember was eastern nc bbq sandwich once from snack bar. But I can say for sure several frozen snickers have been consumed.
If I ever get to the UK though, sausage rolls sound good to me
I’m like some of the others here in that I don’t like to eat a lot at the turn. All I want is a light snack. Just enough to keep me going for the back nine. Then I can thoroughly enjoy my post round meal. I do remember one time we were playing a course that we just started revisiting last season. At the turn my buddy, and our fellow competitors disappeared inside to order some food, I stayed in the cart. They were in there for a little while, and when my buddy came out he handed me a half of a quite large sandwich. I asked him “What’s this?” He told me it was a BLT and he would never finish the whole thing, so he gave me half. I took a bite and holy cow! I love a good BLT anyway, and this one was excellent!
The taco truck is the ultimate meal at the turn, breakfast, dinner…. So excluding that, I had a great pepperoni roll at a local place once. Usually just a candy bar.
Two local country clubs that hold charity events both have same excellent fare.
Beef hotdog, spicy mustard, sweet relish, red onion sauce and sauerkraut.
Well-cooked sweet and hot sausage peppers and onions on Italian club roll.
Burger, cheddar, bacon, shredded lettuce, thin sliced beefsteak tomato, thin sliced red onion, sliced pickles on seeded Kaiser hard roll.
Fresh potato and macaroni salads with chopped green bell peppers, chopped celery and carrots in them, three bean salad.
Best that I’ve had – burger
Best that I haven’t had (at least hoping) – pizza
I’m always partial to a dog at the turn. Quick and easy to eat. I am sure there are better options, but it’s a classic nonetheless
Ok, I love food…. But the Turn is not a good place to stuff food…. I do not want anything that is going to make me use a Stall or worse an outhouse out on the course…. NOPE!!! No #2’s…
At Puerto Los Cabos in San Jose Del Cabo, they have a comfort station that you pass a few times during your round. Open bar and all the tacos you can eat – the golf is expensive, but the course and the comfort stations make you feel just fine about all that!
Here, my brother and I are celebrating the beat-down we issued to two young Scottish pros (I swear Euan looks like he’s checking his pulse after we had just closed them out! lol).

Hideaway Hills in Kresgeville in NEPA has a killer chili cheese dog which is a meal .
Beer. And a hotdog. Plain, thanks.
But I have to say, tacos would rock. And figuring in the low cost of making them, gonna suggest that at the club.
