With Halloween quickly approaching, Bridgestone Golf is releasing a fun twist on their popular Tour B XS golf ball. They are calling the special edition golf balls “Boo Balls”. Boo Balls will be available starting Thursday, October 24, 2024, in small quantities. While this release won’t be available for any ball other than the Tour B XS, it presents a great opportunity to give the ball a try.
We introduced the 2024 Tour B series earlier this year, and since then several THP Forum members have spent time working with the balls and sharing their feedback. The Tour B XS is a Tour level ball, intended for players with swing speeds over 105mph who want additional spin, especially with their approach shots. It features Bridgestone’s REACTIV X Smart Cover with XCLRNT mid-layer. This technology is incredibly interesting as the cover reacts differently to different impact speeds. With faster driver swings it plays firmer and faster, but with slower swings (like with wedges) it plays softer for more spin and control.
Boo Balls are packaged per dozen in a uniquely designed box featuring the standard Halloween colors of black and orange. In addition, each ball is numbered with a “drippy OO play number” in red lettering. When combined with the familiar Bridgestone “B”, we have a golf ball that spells out “Boo”.
The Tour B XS is the ball of choice for current PGA Tour Champions player Boo Weekley. Bridgestone made sure to point out Weekley’s tie-in to Boo Balls, and we hope to hear that he has them in play soon. Weekley, of course, is a long-standing PGA Tour player known for his outgoing personality, three PGA Tour wins, and his 2008 Ryder Cup heroics. That year at Valhalla he secured 2.5 points for Team USA and helped the team towards its first Ryder Cup victory since 1999. Most recently, Weekley has been on the Champions Tour, making the cut in 29/30 appearances since joining in August 2023.

the box top is amazing. Wish it carried that theme throughout though. Either way, still a good ball.

They’re getting there….slowly….kind of.

I like the dripping numbers more than I thought I would.

I kind of dig them.
red makes it look like blood not halloween.
interesting
Compared to the special edition Halloween balls by Taylormade in Callaway, to me these just seem like an afterthought. Boring and not much there. I never game special edition balls though so if somebody wants understated that actually games them, I could see that but usually, I just put special edition balls in my display case at work and I would have, no desire to buy these for that. Now the TM and Callaway sure.
Not too bad.
