What do the letters “PBR” mean to you? It is the internet so I have no doubt that some of you may have actually shouted Professional Bull Riding, and while you wouldn’t be wrong, even in my part of the country (literally the country part) those letters mean one thing, Pabst Blue Ribbon. While you may or may not recall the events which occurred in your life while enjoying an ice cold PBR, it has been an American staple for one hundred and eighty years.
So, what better way to celebrate that than a collaboration with another brand that has historic ties in American production, Bridgestone Golf.

Bridgestone Golf X Pabst Blue Ribbon
If you have been paying attention, then you have seen the past year show some fun from Bridgestone Golf. The product has never wavered in just how tremendous it is, but, for a time the brand has seemed a bit buttoned to the top, simply doing what they do and never straying from that path. Well, to close out 2024 they have collaborated with brands like Eastside Golf as well Period Correct for limited releases of the Tour B X, but this might be the biggest sign yet of a brand embracing the fun once again and we are excited about it.

Founded in 1844, Pabst Blue Ribbon has been an American brand for 180 years, and those roots stuck out to Bridgestone Golf given their golf ball manufacturing lineage here in the States as well. According to Bridgestone President Dan Murphy:
“We are proud to be associated with such a historic American brand, both Pabst Brewing Company and Bridgestone Golf manufacture in the USA, and both believe strongly in American craftsmanship. This is a collaboration rooted in celebrating American manufacturing.”

So, what does this collab entail? Of course there are golf balls with limited dozens of the Bridgestone Tour B adorned with the Pabst Blue Ribbon logo and enclosed in box which matches the aesthetic that PBR is so recognized for. However, there will also be a limited edition towel showcasing a unique Pabst Blue Ribbon print.
Both items will be available for purchase directly at www.bridgestonegolf.com, the Tour B golf balls for $44.99 a dozen, and the limited towel for $29.99
All that’s missing is the tomato juice! ?

Is Bridgestone really going after the jeans golfers? Interesting. I don’t hate it, I just don’t fully understand it.

I think it’s just kinda fun, this would have been nice before the Secret Santa sign ups!!

To me a lot of these collabs are just one-off type things, and the only larger strategy is just being out there doing something, which is better than doing nothing.
Most of them are forgotten 2 weeks after they are announced.
Well, except for that one time a beer company did a collab
But mostly it’s all harmless and says little about their larger strategies

I would imagine going after all golfers

I guess…I feel like you’d have to be a big fan of PBR to want it on your golf ball though. And I don’t really know anyone who drinks or likes PBR enough to buy golf balls branded that way. I like them doing something, and I get the made in America aspect of it…maybe I’m just not aware of how big PBR is with golfers.
I’m not going to lie, I love this collab. Maybe it’s because I’ve tipped back some PBR a time or 30. The tie in of Bridgestone being a ball made in America and working with PBR who has been around for 180 years? Damn, that’s going back to before Lincoln was president. Feel free to check the math.
I like it simply because of the packaging.
This opens the doors for other collabs like this. Edel and Coors is the first to come to mind. Im sure there are more. Wilson and Miller Lite, Toulon and Leinenkugel
This is great, here in Charleston we have a dive bar – and, it is seriously a DIVE bar, called The Recovery Room, they have been the world’s #1 seller of PBR for several years – so they claim – the only place that I ever actually saw the 99 pack case of beer.
Wonder if they might have the towels and or ball available there – that said, from my very limited number of visits, I don’t see too many golfers there.

I like it a lot. Very fun collab.
I would rate this an 11/10.
I have all of the old Times Magazine Ben Hogan PBR ads framed and hanging downstairs.
I will pass on the balls, but if that towel is not in my Christmas stocking on the 25th, I might shed a tear.

I dig it.
And hell yes I’m going to put them into play.
I only drink at church, but I’d buy a dozen just for the box.

Absolutely love this collab. Close to perfect
Ha this is awesome! Not a combination I would even think would happen. Yes I would buy them. They look cool and are very different.
Frank Booth approves!

The towel is kind of sick.
These arrived the other day from HQ, and I don’t care what anyone says, this was a well done and fun collab.
