Just got word from Bridgestone and they sent over some media copy on this new ball and something that is pretty interesting. Below is the press release in its entirety on this new Bridgestone Long Drive golf ball and I have a feeling we will be hearing more about this very soon.
Bridgestone Golf, the #1 Ball-Fitter in Golf, announced today a new golf ball designed in association with the Professional Long Drivers Association. The new purpose-built golf ball, which will be used by all the competitors in the 2022 PLDA World Championship, was designed with feedback from the PLDA and is the longest ball Bridgestone has produced to date.
“We’re excited to provide the official ball of the 2022 PLDA World Championship” said Elliot Mellow, Bridgestone’s Golf Ball Marketing Manager. “Innovation that leads to advanced performance is always our focus, and with over 900 Polymer engineers on staff and unique technologies like REACTIVE iQ, we’re confident this new golf ball will provide exceptional distance for the entire field of competitors.”
The 2022 PLDA World Championships will be held at the Mesquite Sports & Events Complex in Mesquite, NV, from September 27th – October 1st. For viewing information or ticket information visit prolongdrivers.com.

Currently there is nothing about retail, but I would venture a guess that if there is demand, it will be created. With that said I have no basis for that, just assumption.
I am guessing this is the case.
Interesting for Bstone considering they parted ways with Bryson.
Isn’t he competing in it? I mean they can’t use him to market it, but his content might kind of do that for them if they’re all using it.
I dont think they could piggy back of that after they decided to end their dealings with him. That would be pretty poor form and probably cost them a lot of money in legal fees..
Interesting. Super firm and low spin don’t always go together outside of those speeds, so will be curious to learn more.
I was thinking the same.. they just parted ways but are coming out with a ball they probably worked with him on lol
Yeah I’m saying they might not have to. I mean Bryson’s not going to put it in the title of one of his videos and Bridgestone can’t use him in their stuff, but he will be using it. It’s a long drive thing too, so I’m assuming there’s going to be signage and all kinds of stuff there that puts them together in a way, regardless.
Right not typically but it can be done I guess. Titleist has the left dash that is supposed to be just that. super firm, low spin. I am guessing the Bridgestone will not have a urethane cover. You don’t need it if all you are doing is seeing how hard to can hit a ball with a now 47-inch max driver set at 4 degrees.
Vary curious to learn more.
True. Also, everyone \in long drive everyone uses the same ball. It is provided by the competition.
Did it propel volvik as the PLD ball at all?
That is a really good question. I don’t have data from back then, but I would say "yes?". But they have since given all of that up and then some as other brands created the colorful and arguably better products.
Exactly. Tons of pictures and videos should have the name in the background, and I’m assuming there’s going to be a distinctive B on the actual ball.
Sounds interesting!
I did get some speed gains with the Tour B RX the last time I tried them on the sim.
This will be a fun bit of news to follow!
Yeah I think he is competing in it.
