Golf has always been a game of precision. Yardages, hazards, and course management matter just as much as the swing itself. However, these days precision comes with perks that extend beyond pure numbers. Bushnell, long recognized as an industry leader in golf rangefinders and GPS devices, is unveiling the Wingman HD, a GPS speaker designed not just to tell you how far you are from the flag, but to bring a little spice to your round of golf.
The Wingman HD is an evolution of the original Wingman series that many golfers embraced for its mix of sound and distance measuring. With a new high-resolution color touchscreen, immersive 360-degree audio, and full integration into Bushnell’s golf app, it aims to be more than just another speaker in your bag. It is being pitched as a “course companion”, and the spec sheet shows Bushnell is serious about that.
A Screen That Actually Adds Value

At the center of the Wingman HD is a 3.5-inch color touchscreen. That’s not something you usually expect on a speaker, but in this case it makes sense. The display gives you visual confirmation of front, center, and back distances, along with up to six hazards per hole. Bushnell also includes GreenView and HoleView features through its app, allowing players to actually see the layout and better manage approaches.
For anyone who has ever juggled a phone app in one hand while trying to keep pace with the group, this feels like a welcome addition. No scrolling through menus, no glare-filled glances at a phone screen. Just quick and informative data on the device itself.
Audio for the Entire Round
Of course, the “Wingman” name wouldn’t carry much weight without sound. The Wingman HD delivers it through dual 15-watt speakers with passive radiators, pushing out volume that Bushnell says is both clear and immersive. The design is bi-directional, which means sound carries evenly in 360 degrees instead of blasting in just one direction.
There’s also a bit of clever tech here: dynamic audio adjustment. If you are driving in a cart and pick up speed, the Wingman automatically increases the volume so music or yardages don’t get drowned out by road noise. It is a small touch, but one that feels engineered for actual golfers rather than just speaker enthusiasts.
And for those who want to turn a foursome into a festival, Bushnell includes “Concert Links” pairing. Up to 100 Wingman HD units (yes, you read that correctly) can be synced together for what is essentially a rolling sound system. Most players won’t need that kind of scale, but the fact that the feature exists shows how Bushnell is leaning into the idea of golf as both sport and social event.
Built for More Than Fair Weather
Golf isn’t always played in perfect conditions, and the Wingman HD seems ready to keep up. It is IPX67 rated, which means it is both waterproof and dustproof. Whether it is a sudden rain shower, a sandy range session, or just the wear and tear of living in a cart, the device is designed to withstand what golfers throw at it.

Like its predecessors, the Wingman HD also includes Bushnell’s BITE magnetic cart mount. This lets you secure the speaker directly to the cart bar without any straps or clips.
More Than Just a Speaker

Through the Bushnell Golf app, the Wingman HD connects to a suite of performance tools. This includes shot distance calculators, scoring, HoleView layouts, and the ability to store custom soundbites or even first-tee introductions. While some of these may lean more toward novelty, the core benefit is having both audio and distance data in one device that feels seamless rather than patched together.
Bushnell even added EQ modes for indoor and outdoor use. That means whether you are practicing in a simulator bay, hitting balls at the range, or grilling in the backyard, the Wingman HD adapts its sound profile for the environment.
A Quick Note on Music and Golf
Not everyone wants music on the course, and that is okay. But for the growing number of golfers who enjoy it, having a device that blends entertainment with utility makes sense. The Wingman HD feels like a product aimed at those who see golf as a balance: serious enough to care about precise distances, relaxed enough to enjoy some background tunes while playing.
Final Thoughts
The Wingman HD is more than just a speaker that happens to tell you yardages. It’s a thoughtful update to a device that already changed expectations of what a golf accessory could be. The addition of a touchscreen makes information easier to access, while the upgraded audio and smart features make it as useful off the course as on it.
At $199.99, it is priced in line with many premium Bluetooth speakers, but it brings more to the table for golfers. For players who want reliable distance information and enjoy having music along for the ride, the Wingman HD is an option that does both without compromise. The Bushnell Wingman HD will be available mid-October at select retailers and BushnellGolf.com.

Used the HD for the first time today. Great device and much easier to use. The controls are right on the front and are intuitive. The Bushnell button switches between the music info screen (while still showing distance to the green) and pushing it again will take you back to the course graphic. You can also tap the small little picture of the album and it will go to the music info screen.
The sound is a huge improvement over the first gen. With a woofer on top and bottom, it’s clear and can play very loud.
The battery was only half charged and lasted 26 holes and died at hole 27.
The magnet is super strong. It will not budge over the worse bumps. I would highly recommend the Wingman HD. Hard to beat for $200.

I agree 100% it has to be one of the strongest magnets in the business. I played today at a course that had some of the worst cart paths around. Bumps, holes galore in gravel & the Wingman held up great. Didn’t move an inch off the cart arm
I’m having to send mine back. No matter what I do, I cannot get it to connect to the speaker … no voice commands, prompts or music from the android phone. I”ve tried to pair & re-pair the device but to no avail. Very disappointed in the unit so far
Ordered for upcoming golf trip. Really excited to get this on the course

I hope so. Unfortunately I’ll be without it for at least 3 weeks or so ????
So I got another unit back from Bushnell & I’m having the same connecting issues. Does anyone have an Android? I go thru the connecting portion where you enter the 6 digit code. After that it says connect to the unit thru your Bluetooth in your phone. Go to that screen & I find the unit & click it & it says “an app is needed to use this device?” Well, duhhhhhh …. I’m in the app for F*** Sake! This is really pissing me off.
Does anyone have any advice? Or having any issues like this?

My Andriod pairs fine since I paired it with the phone first as a bluetooth speaker then paired it inside the app. My issue with this new model is that the battery life sucks….. the unit only keeps a charge for 2 rounds max with the GPS display from the phone. Also, I have to keep my phone on and the app showing or the display reverts back to music….. Not a great unit compared to my usual speaker.
