CaddyDaddy RevCore Lux Cart Bag 2.0 Review

It seems like RevCore golf bags have been on our radar for much longer than the 14 months that have passed since we reviewed their first offering, the RevCore Cart bag in January 2024. Time moves quickly in the golf industry. Since the introduction of the RevCore line, CaddyDaddy has built, and then retooled, an entire line of premium golf bags in various sizes and configurations. Coincidentally, the first bag to be introduced to the world, the RevCore Cart Bag, was the last to be redesigned. The all new RevCore Lux Cart Bag 2.0 takes what we loved about the first version and makes it better thanks to the company’s never-ending mission to improve.

RevCore Lux Cart Bag

The RevCore Lux Cart Bag isn’t for the faint of heart. If you are looking for a small footprint this isn’t it. If you need feather light? Keep looking – maybe at the RevCore LT Stand Bag. If you need a ton of storage, 14 full dividers, a dedicated putter well, and (shhhhhh) space to store a 12-pack, this may be your bag. Better yet, every detail of the Lux Cart bag is steeped in premium components that look great and are built to last. In our review of the previous generation bag, we stuck a volleyball in the main pocket for a photo opportunity, and while we won’t recreate that picture here you should know that it’s still possible should you feel the need to hit the sand like Maverick and Iceman after your round.

Specifications and Features – RevCore Lux 2.0

Before we get too far off topic, let’s look at the long list of the Lux Cart Bag’s specs and features. Then we’ll dive into a few of them specifically and talk about what’s changed.

  • Ultra-Durable Synthetic Leather Construction
  • 2 Oversized Cooler Pockets with Drains and 2 Single Zipper Felt-Lined Waterproof Pockets for Rangefinder, Phone or Valuables

At first glance, the specs and features list might lead us to believe that the Lux Cart Bag 2.0 is essentially the same bag, and in some ways that’s not an inaccurate statement. The footprint, divider layout, size, pocket layout, and outer shell materials haven’t changed, which is a good thing. For example, time and feedback has validated the functionality and durability of the foam-backed synthetic leather making up the bag’s shell. The 14-way, full length dividers and velvet lined top are great at organizing your clubs and protecting your expensive graphite shafts. There wasn’t really a need to make big changes. Most consumers aren’t necessarily looking to “upgrade” a bag like this after a year, especially considering RevCore’s reputation for durability. In other words, the company didn’t try to recreate the wheel in an effort to induce existing customers into another purchase. Instead, they’ve taken the already solid platform and made improvements they believe will be useful and valuable going forward.

What’s New? – RevCore Lux 2.0

Most notable visually, at least to those that are familiar with the V1 bag in Matte Black, is the new all-black color scheme, which replaces the gray accents seen in the past. This presents a massive aesthetic improvement in our opinion. The three other color options, Dark Navy, Deep Gray, and Winter White (which we take full credit for convincing CaddyDaddy to bring to market) do have contrasting colors because of the zippers, but Matte Black is different. Contrast isn’t necessarily as desirable on that colorway and we are excited to see the uniformity. Another visual change that is easy to spot is the relocated and sized-down RevCore branding that now quietly sits above the two valuables pockets. The carrying strap on the first version of the Cart Bag also had the RevCore branding debossed into it but that has been removed from the Lux Cart Bag’s strap.

Some of the other changes on the Lux Cart Bag 2.0 take more than just a cursory glance. One of the most clever, but most difficult to see in photos, new features is the No-Ledge Putter Well. While the putter well existed in the first-generation bag, a strip of the velvet liner material now sits directly below the rubber casing of the putter well. It’s there to make sure that larger putter grips don’t get stuck. This is a simple change that just makes the total Lux Cart Bag experience more enjoyable.

RevCore Lux Cart Bag putter well

We’re not really sure how this is possible, but it seems like the zippers and black nickel alloy hardware have been beefed up on the Cart Bag 2.0. The sliders and pull-tabs are overbuilt and appear to be indestructible. At the very least, they’ll safely contain your mini-bar. The CaddyDaddy logo is neatly engraved into each pull-tab as well – a nice touch that may go unnoticed by many. Speaking of the CaddyDaddy logo, the two towel rings are now cleverly shaped as the logo, which matches the rest of the RevCore line. Aside from providing a nice visual, this design has function. The center “tooth” bites into your towel to keep it from flying away. A top each towel ring is a very functional strip of Velcro to hold a glove. The included rain hood snaps tightly to the bag, but is pliable enough that it isn’t a chore to grab clubs when it’s being used.

A newly integrated lower handle makes transferring the Lux Cart Bag from the trunk easier, which is highly appreciated when the bag is fully loaded. Just like all RevCore bags, the Stay Flat Base is extremely stable on a variety of surfaces. Golf bags can often be a bit top heavy and a stable base is vital for those times when we’re on uneven or soft surfaces. We don’t recommend shoving the Lux Cart Bag, but it will handle incidental contact without any issues. Another benefit of the Stay Flat Base is how well it integrates with both push carts and riding carts. You can expect the bag to sit securely on most cart surfaces. The larger footprint of the bag’s lower pockets did introduce some rubbing from the wheels of our very old, four-wheeled push cart, but that’s more of an indictment of the push cart than the bag. To further secure the bag while on a push or riding cart, the cart strap sleeve has been reinforced with the same foam backing that sits under the outer shell.

Final Thoughts

In terms of our first impression on the RevCore Lux 2.0 Cart Bag’s looks, we’ll just leave one short anecdote from the unboxing. In the first generation’s review we mentioned saying, “this looks like a miniature staff bag” when we pulled the bag out of the box. This time, it was, “My god. That is a beautiful golf bag.” There’s really no need to expand. It’s a beautiful bag and is incredibly functional. Better yet, it comes in at a very attractive $299 price point and has the backing of one of the industry’s best customer service teams. Bottom line? We, without reservation, recommend the Lux Cart Bag 2.0. More information can be found on CaddyDaddy’s website, caddydaddygolf.com.
